Even though he's the mighty Spider-Man he's trying to figure life out. Then I notice he's a great student, so it made me walk around the hood like, 'what? You sell drugs and I got an 'A.' What?'" SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — COVID-19 related hospitalizations are on the rise in San Diego County and some healthcare workers are worried we will continue to see a significant increase over the next several weeks to months.“We’re actually seeing significant increases,” said Dr. Ghazala Sharieff, Scripps Health Chief Medical Officer for Clinical Excellence and Experience. “We’re actually higher than we were back in July. Yesterday alone the numbers we got from the county we had 532 hospitalizations across the region.”The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the county is now 75,305. According to county data, 4,470 of all COVID-19 cases have required hospitalization, and 1,006 had to be admitted to an intensive care unit.Sharieff said Wednesday at Scripps campuses, more than 100 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.“We had 117 cases that is with 16 discharges, so if we weren’t able to send home those patients yesterday, we would be at our peak level in July,” she said.She said the concern is growing from those in the medical field, not only after local Halloween parties locally, but as we enter Thanksgiving and the next several holidays.She expects the numbers to continue climbing into early 2021.“What we’re seeing now is what we have predicted,” she said. “We do worry that two or three weeks out from now that we’re going to see the number increase as well.New Year’s Eve is December 31st; if you calculate just exactly what we’re seeing now, people start getting sick in that first two weeks, because the incubation period is two to fourteen days after exposure, then they get really sick and hospitalized, and then the intensive care unit comes, so I’m very worried.”Like many healthcare systems, she says Scripps is seeing a surge in hospitalizations countywide, but even more in the South Bay, where Covid-19 has hit the community hard.Scripps has a detailed plan in place and has managed to balance hospital capacity by transferring patients to different hospitals to not overwhelm a specific location.“Every day, between 4 to 5 patients are getting transferred out of the Chula Vista campus,” she said. “Yesterday we had five transfers, this morning we had two from Chula Vista to Green, and two from Mercy Chula Vista to La Jolla. We don’t want all of the strain to go on our staff in one place when we have capability elsewhere.”“It’s really hard on the healthcare providers when we’re out there trying to save lives, and we see people taking risks like they don’t have to take right now,” she said. “It’s a punch in the gut every time.”Sharieff said the hospitals are well equipped with PPE this time around, but while many people may be letting their guards down and gathering this Thanksgiving, she’s reminding everyone that this pandemic isn’t over and will get worse if we don’t act now.“Just one thing that you do can impact so many lives afterward,” she said. 2901

The report found that across the country, 15% of all moves between January and June 2020 were forced by the pandemic. The company said another key finding of their report is that 37% of people moving due to COVID moved because they couldn't afford to live where they were living."At the state level, it's the states with a higher population, and a higher rate of COVID spread that saw the biggest net losses of moves. Since the pandemic was declared, 64% more people left New York and California than moved in," the report stated.While some in California chose to leave the state, a closer look at the numbers from Hire A helper shows there hasn't been a mass exodus.Their data shows 82% of Californians who moved relocated somewhere else within the state.Many moved to smaller and, in some cases, less expensive cities, while others to the suburbs.According to Hire A Helper, 47% of all San Diego moves were within San Diego and 67% of those who moved out of San Diego went to the Los Angeles area.According to United Van Lines, there was a decline in moving requests from March to May 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. In a moving trends and data insights release, "Interstate move requests were lower in March 2020 (26% decrease) and April 2020 (31% decrease) than 2019 data. And even in the cities where rent growth has been positive through the pandemic, it has still been sluggish. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Crews were able to extinguish a fire in Clairemont Friday afternoon reportedly started by a crash. According to California Highway Patrol, the blaze started on Boyd Avenue near Genesee Avenue. San Diego Police say at 5:24, a suspect hit several vehicles on Balboa and Mount Alifan Drive before taking off. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Country legend Clint Black is moving beyond Nashville stardom with his first-ever musical, now playing at San Diego’s Old Globe Theater. ‘Looking for Christmas’ is about Staff Sergeant Mike Randolf, who returns from deployment to Afghanistan to be with his family for the holiday."Mike Randolf is making it home just in time for Christmas but he's not really quite home. And through his daughter and her excitement over Christmas, understanding how it works, and then ultimately why it works and why we do it is one of the things that propels Mike forward,” Black told 10News.Clint Black created the idea from his 1995 holiday album and wrote the musical with playwright James Sasser."It was a real odyssey for me to try to find the true meaning of Christmas and it's what we're trying very hard to get across in the play."Randolf struggles to find the joy of the season with the help of his family."For me, the true meaning behind Christmas as I discovered it through writing the album was really the message to look around to others and what they need.
