(KGTV) - Three people are dead and two people were injured Friday when a bluff collapsed just north of Grandview Surf Beach in Encinitas, San Diego County Sheriff's deputies confirmed.The bluff fell about 3 p.m. near a lifeguard tower at the Grandview Beach staircase located in the 1700 block of Neptune Avenue, just below South Ponto State Beach.One person was flown to the hospital in critical condition. A second victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Both of those victims have succumbed to their injuries. The area is 25 by 30 feet, lifeguard officials confirmed, adding that the debris reaches 10 feet at its highest point.Rising waves are creating a dangerous situation for first responders. (KGTV) — Police are searching for the driver responsible for hitting and killing a woman on a North County freeway this week.A person lying on the right shoulder of westbound State route 78 under the Rock Springs Rd. overcrossing was reported to police just after 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol.Escondido Fire Department and CHP found a 26-year-old female from Escondido, who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, dead on the right shoulder.No vehicle was found at the scene. CHP is investigating how and why the woman was on the freeway.The suspect vehicle is described as a 2017/2018 Mercedes Benz E-Class sedan and believed to be green. (KGTV) - A woman was injured following a high-speed pursuit that ended with a rollover crash in Escondido Friday.A California Highway Patrol officer taking part in a saturation patrol for the Labor Day weekend saw the woman speeding on north Interstate 15 and Mission Road about noon, the CHP said.The woman exited and got back on the freeway in a stolen Toyota Corolla, heading south at speeds up to 100 miles an hour, said officers.Eventually, the woman crashed as she tried to to take the westbound SR-78 ramp. The car rolled over on the freeway embankment.CHP officers said the woman, who is in her 40s, was not wearing a seat belt. She was not thrown from the car.Paramedics found the woman unconscious and took her to the hospital.Alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash, officers said. 822
