SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego County public defense attorney is accused of providing a felon with a firearm, according to local law enforcement.  San Diego Police confirm that Andrea Bayer was arrested on August 1 and booked into Las Colinas women’s jail on charges related to selling, supplying or delivering a firearm to either a convicted felon or someone wanted on a felony warrant. She was released the same day on bond.  On the State Bar of California’s website, it shows that the 37 year-old’s license is still active and that she works as an Alternate Public Defender for San Diego County. The District Attorney’s Office says Bayer has not been charged and the case remains under review. A Group Communications Officer with San Diego County sent us the following statement: “The County of San Diego cannot comment on personnel matters. Ms. Bayer is currently on leave from her position pending the outcome of the investigation. The Public Defender believes in the presumption of innocence and has faith in the judicial process.” 1070

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Pacific Beach business owner is responding to a viral video of a worker's violent confrontation with a homeless man this week.The owner of B-Mo's Sandwich Shop, identified as Marc L., posted a message to Facebook in response to the video, which shows an employee push a table into a shirtless man's head, then begin throwing his belongings into the street.The note read in part that while he is apologetic for the events that occurred, "this person has been rather malicious to our community for over a year now."RELATED: Violent confrontation between Pacific Beach worker, homeless man caught on tape"Let me reiterate, this is no excuse for the choices and actions of our employee. However, that being said, I would ask for everyone to understand that we love this business and the Pacific Beach community immensely ... I sincerely hope we can all move forward, and learn an important lesson from these less than ideal happenings," the statement read.10News reached out to B-Mo's once again Friday, but no one was available to speak. Employees confirmed the note was posted by one of their owners.The employee in the video has not been named. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man died early Saturday morning after he and another man held a punching game, police say.The incident happened on Fourth Avenue and J Street at Jolt’n Joe’s just before 1 a.m. Police say both men were drinking when they decided to have a punching contest.During the game, one of the men collapsed. Staff at the bar performed CPR on the 27-year-old who was taken to the hospital where he later died.The suspect in the death was taken also taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.Police haven’t officially made any arrests. 576

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man says his car was stolen while he was picking up a delivery order from a Subway in Clairemont. Luis Riveramerced said he was working for Postmates, a food delivery app, on Tuesday when he stopped at the Subway in Clairemont Town Square.“All I had to do is grab the bag and take off,” he said.So he felt comfortable leaving his car running, expecting to be in and out in a few seconds.“If I know it’s pick-up only, then I'll let my car run. I’ll just grab it,” he said.But while he was inside, he noticed part of the order was missing. As he was waiting for the order to be fixed, surveillance video captured a man peeking into the store, getting in his car and driving away.“I was like wow,” he remembered thinking when he went back outside. “I wasn’t expecting somebody to jump in my car right in front of me and take off like that.”He called the police but by the time they got there, the driver was long gone.“You put a little bit of trust and now I will never do that again,” said Riveramerced.A Navy veteran, he said he’d been working for Postmates for a few weeks.
