SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Surveillance video captured the moment after a thief stole a woman's wallet inside a Midway District grocery store.According to San Diego Crime Stoppers, the theft happened on Sept. 23 inside the Ralph’s grocery store located at 3345 Sports Arena Blvd.While the 73-year-old female victim was in the freezer section, the man waited for the victim to open a freezer door and then approached her shopping cart. The suspect quickly removed the victim's wallet from her purse, which was placed at the top of the shopping cart.The victim was right next to the cart but was looking inside a freezer when the theft occurred.The suspected thief walked away without the victim realizing what had happened. The total loss of the wallet and cash inside it is over ,500.Investigators reviewed store surveillance footage, which showed the man following the victim throughout the store and appearing to target her.The suspected thief is described as a white male, approximately 5’10“ tall, 175 lbs., with tanned skin. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Surveillance video captures in "disturbing" peeper outside a home in Old Town, as a teenage girl slept inside.Steve rents a home along Jefferson Street. Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, he was close by with some friends when he got an alert on his phone."Just a feeling of alarm," said Steve.A stunned Steve saw video of a man outside his home, just staring. The cameras capture an older, balding man on the side of the home. His left hand is in his pants, as he peers into the windows."Behavior was really creepy," said Steve.Steve called police and raced home. His 15-year-old daughter was inside, asleep on the couch. In the video, the man keeps looking inside, though all the blinds are closed. His hand is still where it is."My immediate concern is that the guy is going to break a window or climb in the house," said Steve.After peering in the windows, he goes around the back and out of camera range. When he reappears, he decides to smoke before taking yet another look."He was so comfortable in my space looking in my windows and doing what he may have been doing," said Steve.Not long after, police arrive and take him into custody. The video shows he had been outside the home for some 30 minutes. Police say there was not enough evidence a crime had been committed and the man was released after an hour. Steve is still hoping to get the word out on the stranger and the odd behavior he fears could escalate."Probably has done it before and will do it again. Next time, he may go inside the house and decide to do something more than looking in a window," said Steve.Though charges haven't been filed, anyone with information on the case is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2000. 1719

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Hillcrest Business Association is making some changes to the Pride kickoff party this year they hope will make the event more inclusive. According to Benjamin Nicholls, the association’s Executive Director, entry to the event won’t be limited to those 21 and up this year. “We just felt it was a little odd to say ‘oh under 21 you can’t come,’ so we took down the fences and made it all ages,” Benjamin said. On top of taking down the fence that normally surrounds the event, entry will also be donation based. “What we want to do is we want to take down the barriers to entry and that means physically taking down the fences and also charging nothing for folks to get in,” Nicholls added. Nicholls says he hopes the changes will get more people involved. Pride this year will be held on July 12, 13 and 14. 840

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Target cash registers suffered a nationwide outage Saturday, leaving some customers around the country sitting in line for hours.The company's corporate office said an "internal technology issue" shut down registers for about two hours Saturday, preventing customers from making purchases in store.Target added that the technology issue was not a data breach or security-related issue and that customer data was no compromised. By 2:30 p.m., Target said their systems were back online:"Target’s registers are fully back online and guests are able to purchase their merchandise again in all stores. The temporary outage earlier today was the result of an internal technology issue that lasted for approximately two hours. Our technology team worked quickly to identify and fix the issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this caused for our guests. After an initial but thorough review, we can confirm that this was not a data breach or security-related issue, and no guest information was compromised at any time. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The mother of a Cathedral Catholic High School student who sold prescription drugs to minors and marijuana to teenagers pleaded guilty Wednesday.Kimberly Dawn Quach, 49, pleaded guilty to the felony charges, including furnishing Xanax to a minor. Quach now faces between eight and 11 years, eight months in prison.Quach’s live-in companion, William Sipperley III, 50, also pleaded guilty to using a minor to transport marijuana and furnishing to a minor over 14-years-old.RELATED: Mom accused of providing drugs to Cathedral Catholic students  Quach was arrested in 2017 after police said she sold or offered suboxone, an opiate, and Xanax to minors starting in January of 2017.Police also say that Quach gave at least 10 teenagers marijuana to sell, package or transport. Cathedral Catholic students regularly smoked marijuana Sipperley grew at the couples Carmel Valley home.One detective said Quach had as many as 70 teenage clients at the Catholic school and at other schools.During a search of her home, police found large containers of marijuana, plant food, grow lights and drug paraphernalia.
