KEARNY MESA (CNS) - Four men were wanted for robbing a convenience store in Kearny Mesa Sunday, police said.A clerk at the Circle K on Balboa Avenue just east of Interstate 805 was working by herself around 8:45 a.m. Sunday when four men came into the store, looked around and left without making a purchase, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.The four returned about eight minutes later, and one of them pointed a knife at the clerk's abdomen and demanded cigarettes, Heims said. The woman complied, and the men took multiple packs of cigarettes and cigars. JAMUL (CNS) - A small plane landed in thick grass southeast of Jamul Casino in Jamul Wednesday night, but no one was injured.Deputies received a call of a downed plane about 7:50 p.m. off Campo Road, according to Lt. Glen Twyman of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The type of plane was not released.It was not immediately clear if the plane made an emergency landing or crashed, but neither occupant was injured.Fire crews remained on scene after the crash to prevent any of the nearby dry grass from catching on fire, Twyman said. 550

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man freed from prison last year after 22 years will not be tried a seventh time in a quadruple murder case. A judge dismissed the charges Friday after the state attorney general's office said prosecutors no longer had any credible witnesses. Curtis Flowers was released from custody Dec. 16 for the first time in 22 years. Flowers was convicted four times in the 1996 killings of four people at a furniture store in the north Mississippi city of Winona: twice for individual slayings and twice for all four killings.
