A Louisville police officer under investigation in the Breonna Taylor case penned an early-morning email to about 1,000 fellow officers Tuesday in which he claimed Louisville's mayor and police chief "failed" the department, and accused the FBI of enforcing civil rights violations. BOULDER, Colo. — The COVID-19 outbreak at the University of Colorado Boulder is now the largest in the state, with 1,198 positive cases among students and 104 with probable cases of the virus, according to the latest outbreak data released by state officials Wednesday.Twelve staffers have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the data.CU Boulder on Wednesday switched to fully-remote classes for at least the next two weeks, as university officials work to curb the spread of COVID-19 among students, with cases on the rise and isolation spaces dwindling on campus.Philip DiStefano, CU Boulder chancellor, said in a statement Monday that the move was "in the immediate interest" of the campus community's health. Students are being asked to remain in university housing, and employees will work remotely, if possible.University provost Russell Moore said in a news conference Monday that officials have seen fewer COVID-19 cases in recent days, but "unfortunately, the number of cases is not dropping enough."Students can now face a 10-day suspension — or longer — for violating COVID-19 protocols. Interim executive vice chancellor Patrick O'Rourke said 14 students are currently suspended as they go through the discipline process for health violations. A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing three people after they invited him over for Thanksgiving at their Avondale, Arizona, home. Court records show 33-year-old Brandon Robinson met two of the victims days before at a bar. Robinson had explained to them that he didn’t have family in town or a place to go for Thanksgiving, so they invited him to their home. According to one of the victims, after about 15 minutes at the home, Robinson began to act erratic and grabbed a knife approximately eight inches in length. Robinson then allegedly stabbed all three of the victims with the knife. One of the victims, a male, was stabbed approximately seven times and was hospitalized in critical condition. One female victim was stabbed approximately five times and had to have surgery for injuries. A second female victim had one stab wound but did not need to be hospitalized.Robinson reportedly left the scene before police arrived, but was located nearby with a large cut on his hand.No motive for the attack has been given.Robinson has been arrested and faces three charges of aggravated assault. 1116

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – When Dawn Nadboralski lost her father, a sharpshooter with the US Army, it broke her heart. “I’m a daddy’s girl,” she said. “I’m the only child, so when he passed, it hit me really hard.” To help herself heal, Nadboralski went into her dad’s garage and started using his tools – turning old wooden pallets into American flags. “It takes probably about an hour and a half and I paint them by hand,” she said. “I feel like in a way, it’s honoring my father.” And at the same time, it’s honoring the lives of men that fought for this country. Nadboralski sells the flags and donates that money to Forest Home Cemetery to buy headstones for Civil War soldiers who have unmarked graves. “We don’t leave anyone behind even if they’re gone,” said Thomas Ludka, a military veteran. Ludka and Maraget Berres work to find unmarked graves. The headstones are free but cost 5 to install – money they say is well worth it. “A man like him helped destroy slavery.” Ludka said while pointing out a gravesite of a Civil War soldier. “His life meant something. His service meant something. He should not be forgotten.” So far, Nadboralski has sold 33 flags – raising enough money to buy 13 headstones. “I feel like this is just a small thing I can do to give back,” she said. "I want my members to know I will always be there for them rain, snow, shine, it doesn’t matter."Thompson has been calling the 16th Street Mall his office for over two decades.
