Country star Travis Tritt's tour bus was involved in a fatal car wreck as it was leaving Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, early Saturday morning, the musician said on Twitter. Two people were killed and another was injured in the multi-vehicle accident, Horry County Fire Rescue said. Two vehicles and Tritt's tour bus were involved in the wreck. No one on the tour bus was injured, but Tritt was shaken by the experience, according to his twitter.A Jeep was traveling in the wrong direction and crashed into a Chevrolet truck head-on, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. According to Tritt, the driver was going the wrong way on South Carolina Highway 22, also known as Veterans Highway. His bus was sideswiped when trying to avoid the wreck but sustained only minor damage. The celebrity said the wreck was the result of someone driving while under the influence."I’m told that two people were killed in tonight’s accident as the the result of someone who was obviously driving drunk or impaired," Tritt said on Twitter. "Just a sober reminder to everyone to never drive if you’ve been drinking or impaired in any way. CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A new report shows elder adult abuse increased significantly in the past 15 years.Centers for Disease Control and Precention (CDC) released the report showing a 75 percent increase in non-fatal assaults against men 60 and older, and a 35 percent increase against women 60 and older between 2002 and 2016.Dr. Jo Stecher, assistant director of the undergraduate nursing program at from Florida Gulf Coast University, says families should look for sure signs that can point to whether loved ones are getting abused.“They could pull back, they could guard themselves physically when certain people walk in the room,” Stecher said. “Fingerprints on the older adults upper arms where somebody has held onto them.”Stecher also points out that seniors with cognitive impairment could see situations differently and skew their reality.“What might be perceived as caring for them physically, might be abuse in their minds,” she said. She added that neglect is the most common form of abuse among persons 60 years and older.Dana Overton fears his mother is not getting the proper care at the hospital she’s currently staying. Overton claims hospital staff neglected his mother leading to bed sores and weakness in her legs.“They haven’t moved her. They’ve let her body just lay there largely for 30 days,” Overton said.He claims he filed a police report and a complaint with the Department of Children and Families.Overton says the biggest concern is his mother’s safety.“I blame myself that I brought her here. It may have happened at any hospital… I don’t know, but it makes me feel like I failed my mom,” Overton said. For more resources on this topic, below is a list of websites to check out:? DENVER, Colorado — The body of the 7-year-old boy found dead inside a Denver storage shed last month was encased in concrete, two law enforcement sources have confirmed to KMGH television station. The state of Caden McWilliams’ body when it was found was first reported by The Denver Post and confirmed by KMGH via law enforcement sources from different agencies who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. The coroner’s office has not formally identified the boy as McWilliams, but law enforcement authorities did so last week when they announced the arrest of his mother, 43-year-old Elisha Pankey, in the case.Pankey was charged Monday morning with child abuse resulting in death and abuse of a corpse in the case. She turned herself in to police last Wednesday. The boy’s body was discovered in a storage unit in the 5000 block of E. Evans Avenue in Denver on Dec. 23, but court documents and police have said the boy could have died as early as last May. Police and Denver Public Schools have indicated the boy missed the last week of school in May.The boy’s body was discovered inside the storage unit after Aurora police asked Denver police to help in a missing persons case involving McWilliams on Dec. 23. Aurora officers had arrested Pankey a day earlier on suspicion of drug possession charges.Pankey’s husband, Leland Pankey, was in court last week on charges that he strangled his wife in 2017. Leland Pankey was arrested on Dec. 21 – about a year after that original incident allegedly occurred. 1557
