Three Democratic senators on Monday filed a lawsuit challenging the appointment of acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, ratcheting up the court effort to declare his placement atop the Justice Department as unconstitutional.Sens. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii filed the suit in US District Court on Monday, represented by the groups Protect Democracy and the Constitutional Accountability Center.The lawsuit is only the latest challenge to Whitaker's appointment to replace Jeff Sessions after President Donald Trump fired his attorney general the day after the election.Whitaker was serving as Sessions' chief of staff, and has not gone through the Senate confirmation process in that role. THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KGTV) - The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detailed the circumstances leading deputies to search Tuesday the Thousand Oaks home of actress Heather Locklear.The actress was arrested at her home February 25 on suspicion of felony domestic battery and three counts of battery on a peace officer.Locklear told deputies she would shoot them if they ever came to her house again, investigators said.According to the search warrant, deputies looked for a firearm Locklear has registered in her name but did not find it on the property.Locklear is scheduled to appear in court March 13. 614

There is a heavy police presence at Mercy Hospital in Chicago after there were reports of shots fired inside the building Monday afternoon.WLS-TV in Chicago is reporting there are multiple injuries, and the building is being partially evacuated. Chicago Police said one officer was shot and wounded, and he is in critical condition. The TV station has interviewed witnesses who said they saw at least one person get shot and heard as many as 20 gunshots fired.Some witnesses ducked and hid as they hear the gunshots ring out, WLS-TV reports.Police also said the suspect was shot. 602

The doctors' reports also contradict Saturday comments from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who called the president's condition on Friday "very concerning" and added that Sunday and Monday would be "critical" in his fight against the virus.Through several photos and videos released by the White House, Trump has attempted to maintain the appearance of wellness.
