SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a reported bank robbery suspect in the Mission Valley area late Friday.A bank robbery was reported at the US Bank location at Frazee Road just before 5 p.m., according to San Diego Police. At one point, SWAT officers were called in to assist.SDPD initially reported that shots were fired inside the bank based on accounts from "scared employees" but later confirmed no shots had been fired. Police are currently searching for a suspect. No injuries have been immediately reported. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Ocean Beach residents say they are uniting to address issues they believe stem from people living in vehicles.OB resident Michael Copley and nearly 100 others emailed San Diego Police this week, asking for officers to step up patrols in their neighborhood. "I'm just a citizen. I have no authority, I can't enforce anything," Michael Copley says. In a response posted to social media by SDPD officer David Surwilo, Surwilo says the concerns have been sent to patrol supervisors so that they "are aware of your community safety issues, what you are seeing and dealing with and your requests for assistance to address these issues."SDPD Capt. Scott Wahl adds, "We are out in the Ocean Beach area, seven days a week, making sure that we are addressing these issues. And it's important that the community continues to provide that information to us."The post referenced complaints pertaining to areas of Ocean Beach, Robb Field, and dog beach over vehicle campers, drug use, homelessness, and quality of life."One person sleeping in their car is not a big deal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect they say hit a man with his car before leaving the scene in North Park. According to police, the suspect was driving without his headlights on near the 3800 block of 30th Street around 1:30 a.m.After the victim yelled at the suspect for not having his lights on, the two got into an argument before the victim walked away.When the victim was crossing 30th Street, police say the suspect hit the 30-year-old man with his car.The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Police located the vehicle used in the incident on the 4000 block of Meade Avenue, but the suspect wasn’t inside. 674

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Most above-ground power lines in San Diego may soon be gone.The City of San Diego has an aggressive plan to move the lines underground, and they want your input at a meeting next week.People in Ocean Beach aren’t looking forward to the headache during construction, but can’t wait until the power poles are gone.Wayne Samuel works at Ozzie's Import Auto in Ocean Beach. The process to move utility wires outside his business underground has already begun.“So far they’ve taken underground connections from building to power grid,” said Samuel.A map of the plan shows there are 1,000 miles left to transfer underground. The city plans to bury 15 miles a year.The project will be funded by a surcharge on your SDG&E power bill that you’ve been paying since 2002. The city says you won’t see an increase in your bill, even though the price tag is in the billions.The reason for going underground? Fire safety and aesthetics.“I think it’s a good idea getting billboards and power lines out of the visible view of the public,” Samuel said.Arthur Harral has lived in Ocean Beach for more than 40 years. He’s dealt with the pre-construction and paid for the surcharges, but doesn’t mind.“It’s a wonderful deal. In some states across the country, in Colorado, they have them underground, and I’m all for it in San Diego,” said Harral.Construction will last 18 to 36 months. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One of the FBI’s 'Ten Most Wanted Fugitives' from Las Vegas may be hiding in the San Diego area, the FBI said Tuesday.Jesus Robert Munguia is accused of bludgeoning his wife to death in 2008 in Nevada.The FBI said Sherryl Sacueza left Munguia and took the couple’s four young children with her. Munguia learned his wife was romantically involved with another man and persuaded her to return home with the children, said agents.Investigators said Sacueza returned and Managua locked the children in a bedroom before driving Sacueza to a remote area, attempting to strangle her, and beating her with what may have been a tire iron.FBI public affairs agent Mollie Halpern said Munguia uses aliases including Mono, Chuy, and Miguel. Munguia has a tattoo on his chest that reads “My Baby Jessica” and a tattoo of a teardrop near his left eye. He is also missing his right index finger.The FBI also believes Munguia may be hiding in Tijuana, Mexico.Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
