(KGTV) - Did an HOA really order a Texas family to take down the inflatable snowman in their front yard because it's too early for Christmas decorations?Yes!In addition to the snowman, the Simonis family has a reindeer and a Santa helicopter in their yard.On November 4th, the HOA sent them a letter saying they needed to remove the snowman until closer to the holiday season. Exactly when "closer" is wasn't specified.Claudia Simonis is due to give birth December 25th and wants her children to be able to celebrate Christmas early. So the family has no intention of removing their decorations. They have the full support of their neighbors who are putting up their decorations early in solidarity. 707

(KGTV) - Is Bud Light really celebrating its anniversary by giving away a free 24-pack of beer to anyone who shares a link?Definitely not.The story being posted on Facebook is a scam.Clicking on the link will bring you to a page that says you can get the beer by sharing the page, posting "thank you" in the comments field, and submitting your personal information. That, of course, is the goal of the scam.Once it has your information, the scam site will share it with marketing companies that will bombard you with unwanted ads. You'll certainly never get your beer. 574

(KGTV) – A California bill co-authored by San Diego-based Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez would limit the use of so-called “less lethal” weapons against protesters.Leslie Furcron said she will never forget the pain she felt May 30 when she was hit in the head with a rubber bullet during a protest in La Mesa."My head was on fire," she remembers, “they should never be shot at somebody's head like they did to me."Furcron joined several other victims of so-called "less lethal" weapons used by law enforcement on protesters throughout the state in recent months, on a call Tuesday to discuss their support for Assembly Bill 66.Victim stories prompted Gonzalez to draft AB 66. It would create the country's first standards for how and when law enforcement agencies can deploy so-called “less lethal” weapons, like rubber bullets and pepper spray. It would also ban the use of tear gas for crowd control and set minimum standards for the weapons’ use by law enforcement; for example, when a person's life is at risk. It would also require data be collected on the use of those weapons and any resulting injuries.Gonzalez also claimed that one of the rubber bullet manufacturers has indicated that firing them at random into crowds goes against their intended use, citing a study in the medical journal BMJ Open. The sentiment was echoed by victims who described serious, and in some cases, potentially lifelong injuries, including loss of eyesight, traumatic brain injury and PTSD.AB 66 passed through a committee in early August and the state Senate is expected to vote on the bill this week. 1595

(KGTV) - Are In-N-Out cups now being printed with "Epstein did not kill himself" on the bottom? No.A picture going around is a photoshopped version of an old picture from years ago showing a real In-N-Out cup with John 3:16 at the bottom.In-N-Out is a faith-based organization that prints bible verses on the bottom lip of its cups. The fake Epstein message is in reference to the conspiracy theory that Jeffrey Epstein's death was not a suicide. 452

(KGTV) -- DoorDash announced Thursday that the information of 4.9 million users was affected by a data breach. The company said in a blog post that 4.9 million consumers, Dashers and merchants who joined before April 5, 2018 were affected. According to DoorDash, profile information including names, email addresses, delivery addresses, order history, phone numbers and hashed, salted passwords were accessed during the breach. The company says the last four digits of payment cards and bank accounts were also compromised for some consumers, delivery workers and merchants, but full credit card and banking information was not accessed. For 100,000 Dashers, driver’s license numbers were also accessed, the company said. DoorDash says it’s in the process of notifying those affected. The company says a third party accessed the data on May 4, 2019 and that it only became aware of the hack earlier in September. Get more information here. 947
