A farm in Indiana is recalling more than 200 million eggs sold in nine states over salmonella fears.Rose Acre Farms voluntarily recalled 206,749,248 eggs due to potential contamination with Salmonella Braenderup, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement.At least 22 illnesses have been reported so far, the FDA said Friday.The eggs were sold through retail stores and restaurants. A group of siblings are back together after being separated in foster care.A Texas couple with three biological children officially adopted the five siblings over a Zoom call in May, doubling the size of their family.Andi Bonura says she and her husband, Thomas, had been wanting to adopt after years of pregnancy issues. Their three existing children, Joey, Sadie and Daphne, were born premature. They also lost one child during a pregnancy and another died in the NICU.So, in 2017, the couple got licensed to become foster parents. Their first foster child was Bryson, who is now 2 years old. The couple then began fostering two of Bryson’s older siblings, David and Gabrielle.Eventually, the two final siblings, Thomas and Carter, started visiting the Bonura home and asked if they could also come live with them, according to Bonura.Bonura says that one day, she got a call saying their foster children’s biological parents were terminating their rights to the kids and they were given the option to adopt them. A drug used to treat type 2 diabetes and designed to lower glucose levels is being recalled because the manufacturer found it contained high levels of a cancer-causing agent.Marksans Pharma Limited is recalling metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets because levels of NDMA were higher than the acceptable daily intake limit, according to a release from the Food and Drug Administration.The release says the company has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall at this time.NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen, a substance that could cause cancer, based on results from laboratory tests. It’s a known environmental contaminant “found in water and foods, including meats, dairy products and vegetables,” according to the FDA.”These tablets are used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program Friday and accept new applicants for the first time since 2017, according to media reports.A judge with the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn told the Department of Homeland Security to post a public notice by Monday that states they will accept DACA petitions from immigrants who qualify and are not currently enrolled.The judge also instructed DHS officials to grant approved applicants work permits that last two years, and not the one year limit the Trump administration had proposed, according to CBS News."DHS is DIRECTED to post a public notice, within 3 calendar days of this Order, to be displayed prominently on its website and on the websites of all other relevant agencies, that it is accepting first-time requests for consideration of deferred action under DACA, renewal requests, and advance parole requests, based on the terms of the DACA program prior to September 5, 2017, and in accordance with this court's Memorandum & Order of November 14, 2020," the judge wrote.The Trump administration tried to end DACA in 2017, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against him in June 2020. Wolf issued a memo in July saying that new applications for DACA would not be accepted and renewals would be limited to one year. The memo essentially suspended the program.Friday’s order follows a ruling in November from the same judge that found acting DHS secretary Chad Wolf did not have the legal authority to close DACA to new applicants, shorten the period for work permits or change protections from deportations.The judge ruled at the time Wolf’s appointment to his position violated the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
