After seeing the news, Wauwatosa decided to take action in case they ever do have a real carbon monoxide leak.Some schools in Wisconsin are installing CO2 detectors, even though they are not required by law."It's just one more step we can do to ensure the safety of our students," said Melissa Nettesheim, the manager of building and grounds for Wauwatosa School District.At about each and less than 10 minutes to install, Nettesheim said the district is putting at least one carbon monoxide detector in each of its buildings."All the alarms are in place in case carbon monoxide levels did reach a level that would require us to evacuate the building," Nettesheim said.She said that's never happened. And that it's a proactive measure not required by law.Wisconsin state law says "the owner of a residential building shall install a carbon monoxide detector in all of the following places."All of the listed locations are residential. PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Two people were shot Friday evening during a football game at Palm Beach Central High School in Florida.According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, one of the victims was located on the school property. The second victim was transported to a local hospital by a friend. Officials say both victims are currently being treated at area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown. Gender and ages of the victims have not been confirmed at this time. Initial reports from district personnel indicated the shots seem to have come from outside the stadium, the school district said. Details on this remain under investigation. Dwyer student-athletes boarded the bus and were escorted back to Dwyer High School, according to Kathy Burstein with the School District of Palm Beach County. Unaccompanied students were picked up in the school's bus loop. There were a number of law enforcement officers on site. PAPILLION, Nebraska — Papillion Police have arrested an 82-year-old man for third-degree sexual assault of a child and child abuse. According to police, there were several incidents in 2011 and 2012 involving a juvenile victim and Eugene Schneekloth. The alleged victim was helping out with Scheekloth's wife's in-home day care, Janet Schneekloth Day Care, which is now under investigation. Schneekloth will have his bond set this week in Sarpy County. 470

(KGTV) — An auto theft suspect barricaded himself in an SUV at a South Bay motel, prompting a seven-hour SWAT standoff Thursday.SWAT officers surrounded the SUV in the E-Z 8 Motel on Outer Rd. at around 9 a.m. in the Palm City neighborhood, near Otay Mesa West.About 4 p.m., the suspect surrendered with his hands up.The suspect, identified as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, was the suspect of auto thefts in the South Bay and has a criminal history in the National City area, according to San Diego Police. Police had previously told 10News the man was a hit-and-run suspect.National City Police responded to the motel Thursday morning waiting for the suspect to exit, according to SDPD. The suspect and his girlfriend got into the parked SUV. When police surrounded the pair, the woman surrendered but the suspect did not.
