Photographer Matthew Dippel captured a once-in-a-lifetime photo earlier this month at Yosemite National Park, capturing the moment of what appears to be a marriage proposal. Dippel's photo shows the proposal taking place on a cliff, with the sun shining in the background. Now Dippel is hoping to find the couple in the photo. "Alright internet I need your help," Dippel said. "Help me find these two. This was taken at Taft Point, in Yosemite National Park on October 6th, 2018. I took this photo and would love for them to find it.Since posting the photo on Facebook last week, Dippel has had a few false leads. PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J. – The smiling Black chef that’s been on Cream of Wheat packaging for decades is being removed.In a statement obtained by USA Today and The New York Times, B&G Foods said that research indicates the image of the Black man may be based on an actual Chicago chef named Frank White, but it’s being removed because “it reminds some consumers of earlier depictions they find offensive.”The removal comes after the company initiated a review of the packaging in June. At that time, the business wrote that it’s committed to evaluating its packaging and would take steps to ensure it does not inadvertently contribute to racism."B&G Foods unequivocally stands against prejudice and injustice of any kind," wrote the company.It’s not immediately clear when customers can expect the Cream of Wheat packaging to be changed.The Times reports that the character on the box was once named “Rastus,” a pejorative term for Black men, and that he was once depicted as a barely literate cook who didn’t know what vitamins were.Cream of Wheat is the latest of several products which are being redesigned to remove racially insensitive imagery.Earlier this month, it was announced that Uncle Ben’s rice products would be renamed Ben’s Original and the image of Uncle Ben would be removed. In June, Quaker Oats said it would rename and rebrand Aunt Jemima pancake syrup. Additionally, the Mrs. Butterworth brand is being reevaluated.These changes are part of a ripple effect from the Black Lives Matter movement, which picked up steam following the police killings of Black men and women, including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. 1654

OTAY MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a person of interest after a mother and daughter were shot and killed at an Otay Mesa home Sunday morning.San Diego Police were called to the residence on the 4300 block of Ebersole Drive after receiving reports of shots fired around 8:30 a.m.When police arrived they found a 37-year-old woman in the front yard with a gunshot wound.Police then learned that another woman was injured inside the house. They found a 65-year-old woman, also suffering from gunshot wounds.Both of the women who were shot died from their injuries. Police believe that the person of interest in the case, Justice Love Peace, aka. Jeremiah Horton, took a 6-month-old boy from the home. Shortly after 3 p.m., police said they had safely located the 6-month-old boy, but were still searching for Horton.Horton is considered armed and dangerous.Police believe Horton is the infant's father, the 37-year-old woman is the infant's mother, and the 65-year-old woman is the 37-year-old's mother. "A lot of people are getting rid of their beach homes right now after COVID because they can’t afford to keep their beach homes. Our nation’s veterans and Gold Star families will receive free access for life to any national park, national wildlife refuge, and other federal lands.Beginning Veterans Day, which is Wednesday, the Department of Interior said they would permanently waive the entrance fees for them.“The Trump Administration is committed to honoring American patriots – the men and women who have served in our armed forces,” said Secretary Bernhardt in a press release. “With the utmost respect and gratitude, we are granting veterans and Gold Star Families free access to the iconic and treasured lands they fought to protect starting this Veterans Day and every single day thereafter.”To get the free pass, which is called America the Beautiful, veterans must provide a form of identification that would show they served in the armed forces or in the United States National Guard and Reserves.Gold star families are next of kin of a member of the United States Armed Forces who lost his or her life in a war, an international terrorist attack, or a military operation outside of the US while serving in the armed forces, the department said.With the pass, 2,000 federal recreation sites on more than 400 million acres of public lands, including Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Arches, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial, will be accessed.The department already waives fees for active-duty military service members. 1403
