It doesn't look like winter is giving up easily.Storms with large hail and damaging winds are smacking the Southeast on this last day of winter, according to the National Weather Service. About 20 million people are in the path of these severe storms, and the areas most at risk are parts of Tennessee, northeastern Mississippi, northern Alabama and northwest Georgia, according to CNN meteorologist Haley Brink.The bull's-eye of this storm is northern Alabama, CNN meteorologist Taylor Ward said. In a 4 p.m. press conference, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said the state is "not taking this situation lightly.""My team and I have been monitoring this system throughout the day," she said. "The exact locations of where these storms will form are unpredictable."The NWS said that "a large and extremely dangerous" tornado had developed near Russellville, Alabama.The area between southern Tennessee and northern Florida has a slight risk of being impacted by this storm.The main impact of this system, Brink said, includes tornadoes, very strong, large hail and damaging winds. It's expected to hit Monday evening and continue overnight. Areas of the mid-Atlantic could see some snowfall as early as Monday night, she said, and snow is likely to keep falling Tuesday through Wednesday. Boston could get 2-4 inches of snow and 3-6 inches could fall on Washington, DC, Brink said.However, the system's exact path is still uncertain and should become clearer in the next 24 hours, Ward said. At this point, Ward said, the question is whether the system will continue east toward the coast or travel north. If it veers north, there will be significant snow in New England, but if it goes eastward, it'll mean less snow for the region.New England is still reeling from last week's storm, which the weather service declared a blizzard. INDIANAPOLIS — The first officers to respond to a reported stabbing in Indianapolis Sunday night walked into a chaotic scene: shards of broken glass strewn about the floor; a wig that had been forcibly ripped off someone’s head; and blood smeared from one end of an apartment’s hallway to another.Just inside one of the units at the St. George Apartments police found 45-year-old Vickie Jackson collapsed on the floor. She had been stabbed multiple times and was in extremely grave condition. She was pronounced dead 35 minutes later at Methodist Hospital.Surveillance video obtained by investigators shed light on the chaos.According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Marion County court Monday, a camera captured Jackson and another woman, later identified as 35-year-old Tashawanna Wilson, fighting in the hallway.In the video, police say, Wilson can be seen breaking a wine bottle against Jackson. Wilson then allegedly used the top portion of the broken bottle to stab Jackson numerous times.Police broadcast a description of Wilson, and an officer located her a short time later on the campus of the Tindley Genesis Academy at 24th Street and Capitol Avenue. Wilson was reportedly covered in blood and carrying a hatchet, which was also covered in blood.According to police, Wilson admitted to striking Jackson with a wine bottle during a fight and to going to a friend’s house to change clothing afterward.Wilson was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of murder and booked into the Marion County Jail without bond. As of Monday afternoon, prosecutors were still reviewing the case against her for a final charging decision.Court records show Wilson has previously been charged three times with battery in Marion County, most recently in February 2013. She pleaded guilty to resisting law enforcement in that case and was sentenced to time served. 1874

INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- Police say two women climbed in the drive-thru window at an Indianapolis McDonald's and assaulted an employee because they didn't get their chicken McNuggets. Police were called to the restaurant just after 3 a.m. local time Friday morning.The manager told police he was working the drive-thru window when two women pulled up complaining they did not receive their chicken McNuggets. When the manager told the women they didn't order McNuggets or pay for them, even printing out a receipt to show them, the pair tried to order some at the window. The manager told the women they would have to drive back around and order at the signboard and said, "Have a nice day," before turning his back on them to fill other customer orders, according to police. The women then began pounding on the window and honking their car horn, claiming they had been disrespected.
