(AP) — Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California has temporarily banned overnight camping in some parts of its park after several interactions between campers and foraging bears. The decision was made to close down back-country camping in the Twin, Rainbow, Swan and Snag Lake areas after multiple visitors reported that bears had come to their campsites and searched their backpacks for food. The Sacramento Bee reported that the areas will remain open for hiking, but the park warns visitors to be careful. REXBURG, Idaho — Officials at BYU-Idaho are warning students about intentionally contracting COVID-19 in order to sell their plasma.In a news release issued Monday, the school says it is "deeply troubled" over reports that university students may be exposing themselves to the virus in order to contract it and sell the plasma that contains COVID-19 antibodies."The university condemns this behavior and is actively seeking evidence of any such conduct among our student body," the statement read. "Students who are determined to have intentionally exposed themselves or others to the virus will be immediately suspended from the university and may be permanently dismissed."Despite the warning, there has been no confirmation that any BYU-Idaho student has intentionally exposed themselves to COVID-19."We have been made aware of this information but at this point, it is only just rumors," said Mimi Taylor of Eastern Idaho Public Health. RTW Retailwinds, the parent company of retail chain New York & Co., announced Monday that is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy — the latest blow to an industry whose struggles were taken to new heights by the coronavirus pandemic.The company said in a press release Monday that filed for bankruptcy relief in New Jersey. In the statement, the company hinted that all of its more than 400 brick-and-mortar stores could close for good.In recent months, sales have fallen at New York & Co. as the pandemic forced shutdowns at non-essential retail stores across the country. In addition, massive layoffs and a large increase in employees working from home shrunk demand for professional attire.
