(KGTV) - A tree trimming truck crashed into the side of a La Mesa church Wednesday, creating a gaping hole in the side of the building.A tree trimming crew was working on some trees on Pointe Ave., when their truck began rolling down the hill into the San Diego Taiwanese Presbyterian Church at 4426 Harbison Ave. around 1:30 p.m. according to witnesses."We all watched helplessly as there was nothing we could do," Rob Engquist, a witness, said. "Turns out they had gone out to reposition it, moved their wheel chalk out fo the way, don't know if the parking break was set or what happened, but the truck was going down the road on its own."La Mesa officials are investigating how the truck became dislodged.No one was inside the building at the time of the crash.The church's pastor told 10News the building hit by the truck is home to a weekly Bible study held Wednesday nights. 905

(KGTV) - Three baby sea lions stranded in a small cave in La Jolla were rescued Friday by SeaWorld experts.The sea lions became trapped for an unknown reason and did not appear to be able to swim to safety. The animals' mother cried out in distress as onlookers watched from above. One sealion was lodged between two rocks, while two others were inside on the floor and unable to find their way out. A SeaWorld team reached the scene about 11:30 a.m. to save the sea lions. Mark Bressler, a SeaWorld rescuer, said the mothers and babies can get separated when humans get too close to the sea lions. Pete Ricketts doubled down on his opposition to medical marijuana in Nebraska on Monday after a legal challenge was mounted against a ballot measure seeking to legalize that in the state.“There is no such thing as medical marijuana,” Ricketts said during a press conference. “This is not something that would be prescribed by a doctor. It’s not going to be distributed through a pharmacy. LA MESA (KGTV) -- A man who mistook his gas for the brakes crashed into the side of the Marque Urgent Care Wednesday.Police say the man was driving his SUV on Lake Murray Boulevard near Dallas Street when he hit the gas instead of braking.The vehicle then struck a tree, hit the Marque Urgent Care, taking out two load-bearing pillars, knocked over two handicapped parking signs and eventually became lodged in an iron railing at a barbecue restaurant.Following the crash, the urgent care facility was evacuated and closed.The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with cuts. 603
