SAN DIEGO (KGTV)  - San Diego State University unveiled Thursday details about its plan for a stadium in Mission Valley that could serve SDSU and a possible NFL team.The stadium is currently proposed as a home for the Aztecs, with 35,000 seats. It could be expanded into a 55,000 seat stadium for the NFL, according to SDSU athletic director John David Wicker.Details about the stadium include an aluminum-panel exterior designed to resemble boats. The panels would change color throughout the day and be illuminated with LED lighting at night.Other features include more than 82 suites, 50 loge boxes, two end-zone party decks, six exterior balconies, and five different club sections.The site would also offer 90,000 square feet of retail space.The stadium is being designed by global architecture and design firm Populous, which also designed Yankee Stadium, the London Olympics, and the Super Bowl.SoccerCity supporters, who want to bring a Major League Soccer team to Mission Valley, responded with a statement from SoccerCity project manager Nick Stone. 1077

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Three healthcare-related offices were burglaries early Thursday morning, where criminals got away with cash and prescription pills. At 2:00 am, San Diego Police Officers arrived at the Cos-medic Inc. Plastic Surgery Clinic in Bankers Hill, to find a smashed glass window. They said burglars got away with an unknown amount of money. At 4:15 am, dispatchers sent officers to the Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy in Clairemont Mesa, after the front door was broken in. Nothing was taken. Just 20 minutes later, police said criminals shattered the back glass window at the Carmel Valley Pharmacy. The owners immediately contacted the local Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to notify that the burglars took 600 tablets of Adderall, worth up to ,000 in street value. "This is one of the drugs we see that are highly abused by high school and college students...What they perceive to be a study-aid," DEA Special Agent in Charge, Colin Ruane said. The Schedule-2 narcotic often lands in the hands of our youth, which can have deadly consequences. "In this country, we lose 70,000 people who die of drug overdoses every year," Special Agent Ruane said. "This is just another symptom of the major problem and the major addiction issue we have in the country. They wouldn't be stealing these drugs if there wasn't somebody willing to buy them."San Diego police said there appeared to be no connection between the burglary at the plastic surgery office and the others. However, after our inquiry, the Department said they are working with the DEA to look for a possible connection between the two pharmacy burglaries. They are also helping the owners get back on their feet."We will give them suggestions on additional security measures, make sure they are in compliance," Special Agent Ruane said. SAN DIEGO (KTGV)— A homeless man and convicted rapist accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an East Village bar in November faced his accuser in San Diego Superior Court. Gary Cushinberry, who's accused of multiple counts of sexual assault and attempted rape, pleaded not guilty. The judge ordered all media to conceal the victim’s identity, and to refer to her as Jane Doe. Jane Doe took the stand and recalled what happened on the evening of November 5th. She said she was at Amplified Kitchen and Beer Garden in East Village, celebrating with some colleagues.After having a few drinks, she headed to her car. She admitted she was drunk at the time, and her memory was hazy. But she did remember the moment her bottom touch the ground.“He was touching underneath the blanket, and I just remember being shocked. Uh, next he further proceeded to put his hand in my pants,” Doe said. While he attacked her on the ground underneath a dirty blanket, he tried to drug her with what she thought was a meth pipe, Doe continued. Detective Carlos Munoz of the San Diego Police Department also spoke in open court. After the case was assigned to him, he monitored surveillance cameras in the area. The detective found footage of a homeless man fitting Gary Cushinberry’s description, pulling Jane Doe into a bush next to her car. The two were not in frame for the next 25 minutes, until video captured Jane Doe speeding away from the parking lot, back into Amplified, where she later reported the assault.“It’s like you imagine a fight or flight. And I didn’t really fight and I didn’t flight. I just froze,” Doe said. Cushinberry, who is already a convicted rapist in Indiana, returned to the frame, just two minutes later. “When he walks up toward the intersection, or the corner, he is adjusting his belt, he is adjusting his waist,” Detective Munoz said. The next day, Jane Doe provided information for a suspect sketch.Officers also took her to Palomar Hospital to run a rape kit. DNA Criminalist Adam Dutra of the San Diego Police Department Crime Lab tested the DNA swab taken from the front button and zipper of Jane Doe’s shorts.“There was strong support for the inclusion of Mr. Cushinberry as the 98% contributor,” Dutra said. Cushinberry’s past convictions include rape in 1995, sexual battery in 1997, and recently, felony robbery in San Diego.His next court appearance is on December 19th. 2407

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) --Concertgoers have questions about show refunds with tickets bought from third party vendors.Danny Memeo is one of those people. He went to Kaaboo in Del Mar last year. It was a special time for him and his wife, Kelly.“We got to see Tom Petty right before he died, so we're super thankful,” Memeo said. They had a great time, so decided to go again this year.“So we got the tickets, and then all this stuff happened,” Memeo said.He bought the tickets through Vivid Seats. It cost roughly ,800 for their entire family. “That’s a lot for anybody,” he said.Meanwhile, his family got devastating health news. Kelly’s cancer returned. Danny said her prognosis is not good, with an estimated 12 months left to live.“[We’re] thankful for 12 months, thankful for family,” Danny said. “But wow, what a difficult year for a lot of people.”Back in July, Kaaboo officially announced there would be no event this year. “All pass holders will have the option for a full refund,” said a statement on its website.Because Danny’s family bought tickets through a different site, it’s a different story. As of Monday morning, he did not have any luck getting his money back.“They just said… when it does get rescheduled, you’ll get those tickets and you can sell them if you don’t want them,” Danny said the company told him.Vivid Seat’s website said that if an event is canceled, customers “will receive a Rewards Cash loyalty credit for 110% of the full value of your order total.”For postponements, customers “will need to hold onto [their] tickets for now.”Team 10 contacted Vivid Seats and informed them of the Memeo family’s situation.A spokesperson said they would refund them immediately.“Vivid Seats was happy to refund Kelly.
