Scientists at the Department of Defense are working on giving families of troops who were killed in action some closure.For Brent Stevenson, advances in technology allowed him to honor his uncle.Stevenson ‘s uncle William Bruesewitz died in the attack at Pearl Harbor attack at the age of 26.This month, his family finally laid him to rest 77 years after he died.“Everybody is overjoyed and thrilled that we’re able to do this and very much humbled and honor that we’re able to do it at Arlington National Cemetery,” said Stevenson.Bruesewitz served in the Navy and died during an attack on his battleship, the USS Oklahoma.His remains were recovered, but could not be identified. For decades, he was buried as an unknown soldier. But advances in technology allowed the military to re-examine his remains and finally make a positive identification.“It was surprising. It was a blessing. It was really quite humbling,” said Stevenson.“Every year it is our goal to identify at least 200 of these service members. R&B singer R. Kelly is due in federal court to enter a plea to an updated federal indictment that includes sex abuse allegations involving a new accuser. The 53-year-old is expected to plead not guilty at Thursday's hearing in Chicago to a superseding indictment unsealed last month that includes multiple counts of child pornography. The reworked charging document is largely the same as the original indictment but includes a reference to a new accuser. The hearing also could be a chance for the judge to push back the trial date.
