(KGTV) -- Several wildfires continue to rage across California amid dry and windy conditions. According to Cal Fire, the Kincade Fire in Northern California has so far burned 75,415 acres as of 3 p.m. Tuesday. The blaze also destroyed 124 buildings and left two people injured. So far, the Kincade Fire is 15 percent contained. In Southern California, the Getty Fire has scorched 656 acres and is also 15 percent contained as of 3 p.m. Tuesday. (KGTV) -- The Department of Homeland Security is requesting US troops build temporary facilities to house up to 7,500 detained migrant adults, according to ABC News. The department would “loan and erect” the tents in support of ICE, the Pentagon told ABC. "DOD will not provide detention or custodial support for detained aliens at these ICE detention facilities," a spokesperson for the Pentagon said. "ICE is responsible for detention or custodial support."RELATED: TSA to deploy hundreds, including air marshals, to borderThe tents were requested at six locations along the border, but specific locations are unclear at this time. The announcement comes as the Pentagon shifted .5 billion to a counter-drug account that will be used to build roughly 80 miles of border wall, according to ABC. It's being done privately. It's being set by the private sector and we all pay for it.”SEIU is one of the labor unions backing his plan. The local leader in San Diego says every day, many of his members must make costly decisions. “Am I going to go the hospital and pay that huge co-pay or pay for those prescriptions or do I put groceries on the table?” said SEIU President David Garcias.But opponents argue there is a big downside. “It's not cost of care they're lowering. It's the payment for care that they're lowering,” Dr. Ted Mazer, President of California Medical Association. “The costs still go up.”Mazer is leading the charge against this measure. He says the plan will drive doctors out of the state or encourage them to retire. “ [They’re] in essence saying, it doesn't matter what it costs you to serve the patient, this is all you're going to get. That does not drive the cost curve down, it drives doctors out.”It’s a quick fix he says that could cost you more in the long run. “You're looking at a state that's already facing a shortage of physicians,” Mazer said.Supporters site a New York Times article that says Americans pay up to 20 times as much as people in other countries for the same medical treatments.That's the problem they hope to solve with doctors at the table. “If they're not part of helping us come up with a solution to this, this unsustainable healthcare system is going to take all of us down,” Kalra said.California has seen a similar plan in the past. A 64-year-old Painesville Township, Ohio resident was hailed as a hero after authorities say he stopped a man who chased a mother and her two children from their home after he allegedly broke in.Police said the resident, Thomas Jones, opened his door after he heard his neighbor pounding on it and yelling for help.According to authorities, Jones' neighbor and her two children had just run from their house after a 30-year-old man allegedly forced his way into their home through the back door. The suspect chased the woman into her bedroom and then laid down on the floor claiming someone was trying to kill him, police said.The woman was able to escape the bedroom and run from the residence with her 5 and 7-year-old children and call 911.Listen to the 911 call below. It also appeared that he was under the influence of an unknown drug.Collier was charged with aggravated burglary, burglary, assault, criminal damaging, and aggravated trespass.Jones later told the sheriff's department, he "only did what anyone would do."The sheriff's department said they "commend Thomas Jones for his selfless act and thank him for his outstanding efforts." 1643
