WACO, Texas — A Houston boy who went missing in 2017 was found in Florida on Saturday with his father, who did not have custody of the child. The Sanford Police Department in Florida said Kenneth Graham, the boy’s father, left Texas with Joshua Graham at the end of 2017 without notifying his wife. It was believed he was taking the boy to Tallahassee, Florida, where Kenneth Graham previously lived. Tallahassee is about four hours away from Sanford, where the boy was found. Police in Florida said they were notified by Houston detectives on Friday that Joshua, now 9 years old, was in Sanford. The following morning, police found the boy and his father in a car at Fort Mellon Park. Police said the child was in good health.Joshua’s mother was granted sole custody of the boy in February 2018. Law enforcement in Houston filed Joshua as missing and “abducted by non-custodial parent” on March 26, 2019.“Regardless of the circumstances, the feelings of loss and devastation are indescribable when any child is taken from a parent,” said Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith. “The officers and investigators involved in this case are delighted to have played a significant role in reuniting this mother with her child after two long years. I am proud that the officers responding to this call quickly identified that something didn’t seem right, and those instincts led to this happy conclusion.”Joshua was taken into Child Protective Services custody while he waits to be reunited with his mother. Sanford police said law enforcement in Texas may file criminal charges at a later date. 1594

WAVERY, Ohio — One of the women accused of lying to cover up eight rural Ohio slayings in 2016 wants to return to church to teach Sunday school. In a supplemental memorandum asking to modify the conditions of 76-year-old Fredericka Wagner's house arrest filed in Pike County court Jan. 31, her attorney asked Judge Randy Deering to allow Wagner to leave her home to visit Lucasville Mission Church on Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in order to attend services from 2 to 3 p.m. and teach Sunday school from 3 to 4 p.m.Wagner has attended services and taught Sunday school at the church "each and every week since 1976," other than when she was caring for her dying husband, her attorney wrote in the court filing. In a letter supporting Wagner's request, Pastor Aaron David Spencer wrote that she "needs the spiritual strength she gains from attending our Praise and Worship.""I can attest to the fact that Fredericka Wagner never missed a service with exception of the time her husband was on hospice ... She began attending the Mission again the very next Sunday and never missed a service since," he wrote. "She was there every time services were held from August 21, 2017 until she was arrested November 13, 2018. We respectfully ask that she be allowed to attend our services on Sunday."The church's small congregation of about 30 has dwindled to an average of just eight to 10 people each Sunday since "the recent legal events," Spencer wrote."Her Sunday school class is without a teacher and the children miss her very much," he wrote. "Several of them have stopped coming to church since she is not there."Wagner is accused of lying to an investigative grand jury about the deaths of eight members of the Rhoden family in 2016, as well as discussing her testimony afterward against a judge's instructions. Her son, George "Billy" Wagner III; daughter-in-law, Angela Wagner; and grandsons, George Wagner IV and Edward "Jake" Wagner, are accused of carrying out the slayings. Angela's mother, Mary Jo Newcomb, is also accused of lying to cover up the crimes. The judge ordered Fredericka Wagner be held on electronically monitored house arrest pending her trial. She has also sought permission from the court 2223

U.S. News and World Report has released its annual list of the best cars for the price with multiple Kia, Toyota and Honda vehicles named as this year's winners. The rankings contained 11 categories, with Kia winning four categories, Toyota winning three categories and Honda winning two categories. U.S. News and World Report stated that naming the cars that provide the best value helps consumers balance finding a cheap car and a good car. "A car has significant ongoing costs, like repairs, fuel, and insurance," the report says. "To measure the kind of value a car offers, we start with real-time transaction prices reported by our partner TrueCar. We then combine that information with five-year total ownership costs from Vincentric. Those two measures together provide a car’s value score for the Best Cars for the Money."Here is the list: Honda Fit: Best Subcompact Car for the MoneyKia Soul: Best Subcompact SUV for the MoneyKia Forte: Best Compact Car for the MoneyHonda CR-V: Best Compact SUV for the MoneyToyota Camry: Best Midsize Car for the MoneyHyundai Santa Fe: Best 2-Row SUV for the MoneyKia Sorento: Best 3-Row SUV for the MoneyKia Sedona: Best Minivan for the MoneyChevrolet Impala: Best Large Car for the MoneyToyota Corolla Hybrid: Best Hybrid and Electric Car for the MoneyToyota RAV4 Hybrid: Best Hybrid and Electric SUV for the MoneyKia said it was honored to have four of its models on the list. Two years ago, Michael Watson was in a rut. The 6-foot-4 inch teen weighed 335 pounds and was often bullied about his weight."My self-confidence was zero," Watson, who turns 18 on Wednesday, told CNN.As a junior at his Canton, Ohio, school, the teen decided to make a commitment to walk to and from school every day, about 20 minutes each way. And he made some changes in his diet. When he walks across the stage at graduation later this month, the McKinley High senior will be 115 pounds lighter. He walked to and from school in the rain and snowOne low moment came when a classmate told Watson he had something on his chin. When Watson rubbed his chin, the boy told him, "'No, third one down,'" Watson said. "That really hurt."Moments like that fueled his walking.Even if Watson wanted to take a day off, he couldn't. "I didn't even know when the bus came," he said. And on days when it was raining, people would ask if he wanted a ride. Michael declined. In addition to the walking, the student made a commitment to dieting, which especially took discipline when he was working his after-school job at a fast-food restaurant. The boy who was too afraid to approach girls now says he's surging with confidence. After the weight loss, he has no problem asking one out.The school is using his story to inspire othersTerrance Jones, who works as a family specialist and graduation coach at the school, told CNN that Watson's story stuck with him."It's an example of courageous personal development that's rare for a high school student," Jones said.
