SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two robberies were reported within a couple of hours of each other early Sunday morning near San Diego State University, police said.Around 2 a.m. Sunday, a person told police five or six men had stolen cell phones from a group of people on Prosperity Lane near Faber Way, San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster said.A little more than two hours later, at about 4:15 a.m., someone flagged down an officer on Rockford Drive near Pontiac Street to report they had been robbed at gunpoint, Foster said.PHOTOS: ,000 reward offered in string of Wells Fargo Bank robberiesThere was no information on what was stolen. SAN DIEGO (KGTV and CNS) -- A San Diego County deputy facing charges that he groped 13 women was arrested again Thursday on five new charges, including forcible oral copulation.Richard Fischer, 32, is being held on million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in a Vista courtroom.Fischer faces more than 10 years if convicted on the new charges, according to the District Attorney. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A fire that burned near SDSU Sunday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of a nearby apartment complex has been contained. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the fire burned roughly two and a half acres. University Police evacuated the Villa Alvarado Apartments during the blaze. Evacuees were asked by the school to report to the Tula Community Center at 6126 Montezuma Road. As of 2:18 p.m. evacuations were still in place. San Diego Fire-Rescue Tweeted around 1 p.m. that the blaze was burning on the 5500 block of Canyon Crest near SDSU. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - This fall could bring dangerous wildfire conditions to San Diego and surrounding areas of the county, according to a report scheduled to be delivered Monday to the City Council's Public Safety and Livable Neighborhoods Committee.In his presentation, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Chief Brian Fennessy notes that winter rains promoted more grass growth than usual throughout the city.
