SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A reported threat to San Diego State University campus was deemed not credible, according to campus police.University police were told of a person making "incoherent threats" on campus Thursday morning. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new mother got a big surprise when she walked into her garage in Linda Vista: A ripped fence and a missing, pricey bike.Kristen Farias had just put her 3-month-old daughter in the car early Thursday evening when she noticed her garage door was open. She and her husband have lived at the City Scene condo complex for eight years."Felt violated. Something just didn't seem right," said Farias.That something was a hole in a fence that separates her garage from her neighbor's. All of her belongings were untouched, except for something expensive: a Cannondale R500 triathlon bike - loaded with accessories - valued at some ,000."You just feel icky. Someone knows how to get into your belongings and take your stuff," said Farias.In this case the 'how' included the neighbor's garage door accidentally left open. The thief got into that garage and cut open up the shared fence. Detectives told Farias of a rash of other incidents. "Four times in the same area in the past month," said Farias.In each of the cases, the burglar somehow broke into one garage, then went to work on the fence."Just means people are lurking in the neighborhood, following you and seeing when there is an opportunity. That's scary," said Farias.Farias says the thief knew exactly what he wanted, leaving behind less expensive items. Her big fear is what could happen when the thief strikes the next time. She can't help but think she and her baby could have walked in on the burglar."Makes me sick to my stomach. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A homeowner in Clairemont hopes surveillance video is the key to tracking down the intruder who climbed straight through his window, before making off with some family heirlooms.Just off Balboa Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Monday, a man is seen ringing the doorbell at the home of Jeff Howell. After minutes of ringing and knocking, the man is recorded heading for the backyard, where he peers into the patio door and grabs a chair. He then pries open a locked window, steps onto the chair and into the home.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhood"Just a sense of violation," said Howell.The man is then seen on the phone, possibly with a lookout."You can hear him discussing 'it's safe now' or 'somebody just went by,'" said Howell.Moments later, the man heads straight for the bedroom closet, dragging out a small safe, before carrying it out the front door.By the time Howell saw his text alert, the intruder was gone. The man was in the home for about 15 minutes. Inside the safe: authentication documents for artwork and family heirlooms belonging to his 11-year-old son, including a silver spoon given to him at birth and something from his rodeo-competing great-grandfather, who has passed."He had a prize-winning, silver belt buckle. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was medevaced from a Carnival cruise ship Monday after a reported stroke. According to the Coast Guard, the rescue happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday roughly 45 miles northwest of San Diego. A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was launched to assist. Once on the scene, the Jayhawk crew lowered a rescue swimmer to the cruise ship to assess the 58-year-old man. The crew took the man to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla just after 9:20 p.m., according to the Coast Guard. The man is said to be in stable condition. 540

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A La Jolla High School student was arrested Friday for threatening a school shooting this week.San Diego Police were made aware of a social media threat Thursday, however, police said the 15-year-old student made the threat Wednesday "to conduct a shooting at the school."The student was contacted Friday, SDPD said. Police searched the student's home but did not find any firearms. Police did not say if they believed the threat to be credible, but that it warranted investigation.Police said the student has been placed in Juvenile Hall."This is absolutely an example of how ‘See something, Say something’ is supposed to work," said SDPD Chief Michael Marquez. "Students warned administrators a threat had been made, and school leaders notified all parents of this report. Multiple parents then spoke with their students and uncovered potential evidence of a threat. In the end, it was this evidence which allowed police to take swift action this morning."Police said the student was already serving a suspension for a separate incident.
