The guidelines state, "Children residing abroad with their U.S. citizen parents who are U.S. government employees or members of the U.S. armed forces stationed abroad are not considered to be residing in the United States for acquisition of citizenship. The U.S. Department of State issued a travel advisory on Monday for those planning trips to South Korea. The advisory is considered a "Level 2" advisory, on a scale from Level 1 to Level 4.
