A giant blimp of London Mayor Sadiq Khan will be seen in the UK capital's skies this weekend after protesters were given permission to fly the crowdfunded balloon in Westminster.More than 3,000 supporters have donated more than ￡58,000 (,500) in total to fund the 29-foot balloon, which depicts the mayor reclining in a small yellow bikini.Protest organizer Yanny Bruere, who describes himself as a British free speech advocate, said he had set up the crowdfunding campaign in response to London authorities' decision to allow a "Trump Baby" blimp to be flown during last month's visit to Britain by US President Donald Trump.He said the Parliament Square event on Saturday morning "marks the fightback for free speech in our country."Bruere, who has set up a "Make London Safe Again" group on Facebook, accuses Khan of doing too little to prevent violent crime in London.The Crowdfunder page posted by Bruere said: "In light of the Donald Trump 'Baby Trump' ballon being allowed to fly over London during his visit to the U.K., let's get a 'baby Khan' one and see if FREE SPEECH applies to all and whether or not Mr Khan and the London assembly will also approve this."Under Sadiq Khan, we have seen crime sky rocket to unprecedented levels. A federal judge agreed Monday to suspend a rule that requires women during the COVID-19 pandemic to visit a hospital, clinic or medical office to obtain an abortion pill. U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang in Maryland ruled Monday that the “in-person requirements” for patients seeking medication abortion care impose a “substantial obstacle” to abortion patients and are likely unconstitutional under the pandemic's circumstances. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and other groups sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May to challenge the rule. 639

A Howard County, Maryland fire fighter and first responder wasn’t even working when he risked his own life to save another.  Ryan Glenn said it was just instinct.  Glenn said he was driving along The Chesapeake Bay Bridge when he saw a man threatening to jump.  “I saw the gentleman standing on the railing and he was on the railing holding on to the guardrail,” said Glenn.At it’s center, The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is 180 feet, a dizzying height for anyone. Glenn was off duty, happened to be on the bridge and jumped in to help.“I said hey, there’s a lot of people who care about you.  Let’s not do this, come down and talk.  I’m here for you, I care about you,” Glenn told the distraught man.With the help of two other off duty officers, who just happened to be on the bridge as well, Glenn began the negotiating.“I managed to get closer and closer to him and probably about two feet away from him, I said, just take my hand and let’s get you down from here.”But that’s not what happened. “He looks down at the water and looked at me again and then he did the unthinkable.  He went from the railing of the bridge to a cross member I-beam type of material on the bridge and jumped on it.  At that point, he was just holding on by his grip and his feet were dangling over the water” remembered Glenn.As a trained professional, Glenn was comfortable risking his own life to save another.“At that point, all three of us, it was just like instinct, all three of us, reached over the railing and grabbed him and pulled him over,” Glenn said.“You’re conditioned to it, if you see something wrong, we run to the problem, we try to fix things.”The man was taken to safety and then to the hospital for treatment. 1758

A high-speed police pursuit has ended in a Phoenix neighborhood as police continue to search the area for at least one suspect.Police say they were following a possible stolen vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over Tuesday when the suspect refused to stop.Helicopter video showed the white SUV in the Biltmore area around noon, going the wrong way in traffic and driving on light rail tracks near Central Avenue and Thomas Road to avoid stoplights. Video from helicopter showed what appeared to be stop sticks deployed on the vehicle that caused a tire to blow near a neighborhood in west Phoenix. The vehicle was then seen driving through multiple front yards and sidewalks around 12:30 p.m. The occupants of the car bailed in front of a home on foot. Police say one woman, the passenger in the vehicle, was taken into custody. The male driver is still missing and believed to be hiding in the neighborhood.Police say the male suspect is believed to be responsible for at least three carjackings. During one of the carjackings Tuesday, a Phoenix police officer tried to intervene and fired shots toward the suspect. A Chandler mother is accused of punching and biting her preschool-aged daughter. Chandler police report that on July 31 they arrested 31-year-old Enricka Rena Johnson. Police say Johnson abused her 5-year-old daughter at their home near Arizona Avenue and Pecos Road. Investigators allege that Johnson became angry because the child would not brush her hair. She reportedly punched the girl in the eye and bit her on the arm. A medical exam noted several other injuries including a brain bleed and a broken lower leg with scarring. Johnson allegedly told police that she bit the child on the arm, hand, and shoulder. She also said, "I hit her hard, I hit her a lot."She reportedly told police that the girl broke her leg about two to four months ago, but instead of getting medical attention she taped the leg for support. The leg swelled causing the scarring. Police say they also found meth in Johnson's possession. She has been charged with child abuse.I 1005
