Carnival Cruise Lines announced Monday it will continue a suspension of operations in North America through the end of September amid the spread of the coronavirus.The cruise line’s decision takes its suspension well past a US government-mandated prohibition on cruises. Located at 1050 Cannon Road just off Interstate 5, the pumpkin patch will be open every day through Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.The family business has been a u-pick strawberry company since 1972, adding pumpkins and a corn maze in the last six years.This year, there will be two corn mazes. One will be haunted beginning Oct. 2. There is also a bounce house and food vendors on the weekends. Brand new this year is an apple cannon that shoots apples more than 100 MPH. Scattered around the lot are sanitizing stations, and the pumpkin patch was also moved closer to the front so visitors do not have to ride a tractor to get to the pumpkins.It’s for general admission ages six and up, and each activity has an additional cost. 831

(KGTV) - For the second time this year, Carlsbad-based airline, Cal Jet, has abruptly canceled all scheduled flights and stopped booking new flights indefinitely. Kelly Skemps was scheduled to fly from McClellan-Palomar airport to Las Vegas on Friday for her brother’s 50th birthday. But Thursday morning she got a call and a text alerting her that her flight had been canceled.“I was shocked,” said Skemps, who admits she was initially excited for the airline to be open.“I thought it was going to be perfect,” she said.Cal Jet bills itself as an easy and competitively-priced flight option from North County to Las Vegas.But this is the second time the small airline has inconvenienced customers by cancelling flights and blocking out their schedule.In February, Cal Jet went dark for nearly two weeks. President George Wozniak said the company they lease the plane from, Elite Air, needed it to fly NCAA basketball players.When they finally resumed operations in March, Wozniak told 10News, “we feel very confident going forward that we have the extra crew and airplanes necessary to fulfill that travel mission for these people.”Cal Jet did not respond to a request for comment after the latest round of cancellations, though a customer service representative attributed the problems to a lack of “aircraft and crew availability.”In an email to customers sent late Thursday, Cal Jet attributed the temporary closure to their efforts to expand to other cities. 1498

(KGTV) - Another local city has decided to back the federal government's lawsuit against California's sanctuary state laws.Carlsbad's City Council voted Monday to support the Trump Administration's lawsuit against the state. CASA DE ORO (CNS) - A person was found dead today under suspicious circumstances in a residential neighborhood near Mount Helix.The fatality in the 4400 block of Carmen Drive in Casa De Oro was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.After deputies confirmed the death, homicide detectives were called in to take charge of the investigation, Lt.
