BOCA RATON, Fla. - A young girl with a big heart and a love of music recently started a charity event to raise money in the fight against Parkinson's disease.Music has been a part of 11-year-old Kasey Moore's life since she picked up a violin at the age of three."I enjoyed it more and more as I grew older," Kasey said.Now, she is practicing playing the piano every day."When I practice, some part inside of me gets alive," Kasey said.Because of the pandemic, she's been able to dedicate more time to her musical passion while at home with her family.Her father, Dr. Henry Moore, is a neurologist at the University of Miami who specializes in movement disorders like Parkinson's disease."He helps people that suffer from this terrible disease called Parkinson's, and this disease affects their brain," Kasey said. Moore has been spending more time working from his home office, which gave Kasey a chance to feed her curiosity while her dad cared for patients."She was very moved by people, how they were very disabled, and then with the medication, they were super happy and so hopeful that this disease will stop," Moore said."It really touched my heart, and I wanted to do something to help, but I wasn't sure how," Kasey said.She decided to do her part to fight Parkinson's disease by creating a fundraiser called "Parkin-Song." WPTV Kasey Moore's love of music started at an early age, and she continues to play the piano regularly. The goal is to use music to raise money and awareness on behalf of the Parkinson's Foundation."The way we always have raised her is to think first [about] others, and that will give you happiness," said Kasey's mother.Kasey's music and kind heart quickly got the attention of some big names, including Gloria Estefan. Her father said she's onto something with the healing power of music."There is music therapy even tested for Parkinson's disease patients, and it helps a lot. (KGTV) - Neighbors in Bonsall who survived the Lilac Fire are anxious about the impending hot, dry, windy weekend.The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Wildfire Warning starting at 10 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday."With it being so hot the next couple days yeah I'm pretty much on high alert," Neighbor Kimberly Marrs said.She was there in December 2017 when her neighborhood lit up. She said homes a quarter mile away burned down.The Lilac fire burned 4,100 acres, destroyed 114 houses and damaged 55, and killed more than 45 horses according to fire officials.Giving Marrs reason to be hyper-aware, "I'm super diligent. I'm always looking at the sky and paying attention... Especially when it gets this extremely hot, especially having gone through the lilac fire, in the middle of it, I get a lot of anxiety from it and that's why I stay on top of it because I want to be super prepared."She said Saturday morning she is going to fill up her gas tank and coordinate with friends so everyone is ready to evacuate at a moments' notice. Another concern she has this weekend is the power staying on."I'll charge everything up in the morning and pull all the plugs in the afternoon... I think there's going to be a just a huge surge in power this weekend so we need to not blow the grid," she said smiling.The California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO), which manages the state's electric grid, issued a Flex Alert for the weekend. BELL COUNTY, Texas -- Human remains have been found during a search for missing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen.The Army Criminal Investigation Division issued a statement Tuesday, saying partial human remains were found during a search of an area of interest close to the Leon River in Bell County.Army CID agents responded to the scene with the Texas Rangers, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Bell County Sheriff's Office.The Army said there is no confirmation as to the identity of the remains at this point.Pfc. BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Moments after a major with the Boynton Beach, Fla. Police Department was pulled over for speeding, he decided to return the gesture by pulling over the same officer who had just let him off with a warning.The entire exchange was caught on dash and body camera video and was released to the media after 13 months of asking for the records.According to the video, Major Michael Johnson was pulled over by Officer Mark Sohn for allegedly driving 97 mph in a 65 mph zone in Interstate 95, while off-duty in September 2017.
