EL CAJON (CNS) - A man who drove drunk and at high speed down a curving Campo roadway, causing a crash that killed his two passengers, was convicted Wednesday of second-degree murder and other charges.Ryan Renz, 26, faces up to 30 years to life behind bars when he is sentenced Dec. 20 for the Jan. 25, 2017, crash that killed his friends, 23-year- old Johnny Ray Meyer Jr. and 26-year-old Dillon Cody Wiltfong.Prosecutors said Renz -- who was on probation and driving on a suspended license due to a prior DUI conviction -- was drunk when he crashed Wiltfong's Volkswagen Jetta into a tree on Buckman Springs Road, near Lake Morena Drive, in the evening hours of Jan. 25.RELATED: Campo crash leaves two dead, driver facing chargesOne of the victims was ejected and the other was trapped inside the vehicle. Renz suffered minor injuries.Deputy District Attorney Laura Evans said Renz and the victims drank throughout the afternoon of Jan. 25 before the defendant got behind the wheel and drove somewhere between 85 to 96 mph down Buckman Springs Road, then crashed the Jetta into an oak tree. The passenger's side of the sedan -- where both Meyer and Wiltfong were sitting -- took the brunt of the crash, according to the prosecutor.Evans said the high speed of the Jetta caught the attention of Border Patrol officers stationed near the scene, some of whom pursued the sedan, but were unable to stop it before the crash. Officers arrived to a "very violent scene," in which the Jetta was found overturned and on fire, Evans said.Mechanical issues were ruled out as a potential cause of the crash by California Highway Patrol investigators, according to the prosecutor. 1677

However, he says, sharing your salary with co-workers is not the way to go about it. "You may hear that you are actually paid more than the person you're talking to, and now they ask you the question back, and now, you might not want to share because you don't want to make them feel bad," explains Ollig. Many people we spoke with say they want open dialogue and feel it's healthy in the workplace. However, Ollig says the real question you should find out is are you being paid what you're worth?Instead of going to your co-worker, Ollig recommends going to your boss. They are the only person who can tell you your worth in the company, Ollig says.But before you do, first do some research. Go to online sites like Glassdoor, Pay Scale and The Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those sites will show you the average pay range of someone in your position. "Speak to a really legitimate recruiter or temporary staffing agency, depending on what you do, because they have data on every job that they service," suggests Ollig. Once you're equipped with the knowledge, then it's time to speak to your boss."If your employer says, 'You are doing great, but there is no way I can get you from x to y,' then maybe talk about different positions, if you like the company" Ollig says. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- The family and friends of the 31-year-old man accused of gunning down his wife and their kids in Paradise Hills over the weekend spoke Monday about the tragedy. Police say Jose Valdivia killed his wife, Sabrina Rosario, and their three children, 3-year-old Enzi, 5-year-old Zuriel, and 11-year-old Zeth. Valdivia also shot his 9-year-old son who survived but is in the hospital on life support. Family and friends say they do not agree with what Valdivia did, adding that they are also grieving the loss of their loved one, his wife, and their children. Dolly Parton spent Thursday at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital to celebrate a deeply personal milestone. Her niece, Hannah Dennison, turns 30 years old on Sunday — a birthday Parton wasn't always sure she'd be able to celebrate."Twenty-six years ago is when Hannah was diagnosed with leukemia, and for five years we didn't know if we'd be keeping her or not," Parton told a room full of doctors, nurses, patients and families. "But Hannah now stands here as our chemo hero. She shows that miracles do happen with good care, great doctors and great nurses."Parton met some of those doctors and nurses last fall when she visited the hospital to release her first-ever children's album. During that visit, she decided to donate million to the hospital."They took such good care of her and just looking at the little faces of the kids going through this and the parents who suffer so much as well; it's just touching and moving," she said. "If you're in a position where you can do something, you should do something."In return, the Children's Hospital dedicated it's second floor butterfly garden to Dennison on Thursday."Now that we have Hannah's butterfly garden, we may come up and do little shows now and then and bring some joy to the kids," Parton said.
