(KGTV) -- President Donald Trump said Saturday that he plans to pull out of an arms control agreement between the US and Russia, according to the Associated Press.The pact, signed in 1987 by the US and the former Soviet Union, prohibits both countries from owning, producing or test-flying ground-launched cruise missiles with a range of 300 to 3,400 miles."Russia has violated the agreement. They have been violating it for many years," Trump said at the Nevada rally. “And we're not going to let them violate a nuclear agreement and go out and do weapons and we're not allowed to."The agreement keeps the US from developing new weapons, with the country saying it will begin developing the weapons unless Russia and China agree not to possess or develop the missiles. Russia has condemned the US for pulling out of the agreement, calling it a “very dangerous step,” while Congress remains mixed.A split also emerged internationally in Europe with Britain saying it stands “absolutely resolute” with the US and Germany calling the move “regrettable.” 1090

WASHINGTON (AP) — The official serving as President Donald Trump’s eyes and ears at the Justice Department has been banned from the building after trying to pressure staffers to give up sensitive information about election fraud and other matters she could relay to the White House, three people familiar with the matter tell The Associated Press.Heidi Stirrup, an ally of top Trump adviser Stephen Miller, was quietly installed at the Justice Department as a White House liaison a few months ago. She was told within the last two weeks to vacate the building after top Justice officials learned of her efforts to collect insider information about ongoing cases and the department’s work on election fraud, the people said.Stirrup is accused of approaching staffers in the department demanding they give her information about investigations, including election fraud matters, the people said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter.The effort came as Trump continues to level baseless claims that he won the election and alleges without evidence that massive voting fraud was responsible for his defeat to President-elect Joe Biden.Stirrup had also extended job offers to political allies for positions at some of the highest levels of the Justice Department without consulting any senior department officials or the White House counsel’s office and also attempted to interfere in the hiring process for career staffers, a violation of the government’s human resources policies, one of the people said.The Justice Department declined to comment. (KGTV) -- Democratic Representative Maxine Waters took to Twitter Tuesday, saying President Trump should be “imprisoned and placed in solitary confinement.”Waters, who currently represents California’s 43rd Congressional District, made the statement during a series of tweets Tuesday. “He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative,” Waters said in part. Waters also called on the GOP and Trump to “stop the filthy talk” about the whistleblowers being spies. The tweet comes after President Trump Monday said the White House is “trying to find out” the identity of the whistleblower who filed a report about Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president. Waters’ tweet comes months after she pushed back against President Trump for claiming she was calling for people to “harm” his supporters.
