The National Weather Service confirmed that two EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday afternoon.According to the National Weather Service in Miami, one tornado touched down in downtown Fort Lauderdale near Andrews Avenue and NE 5th Street at about 3:34 p.m. The tornado, packing winds of 65 mph, knocked over construction fencing and barriers. A minor tree damage was reported near NE 1st Avenue and NE 4th Street.  The NWS says the tornado touched down south of the Tarpon River in the Rio Vista neighborhood, causing tree damages and minor debris, including trash cans.  637

The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo declared an outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, a rare and deadly disease, on Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported. The declaration came after laboratory results confirmed two cases of the disease in the province of Bikoro."Our top priority is to get to Bikoro to work alongside the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and partners to reduce the loss of life and suffering related to this new Ebola virus disease outbreak," said Dr Peter Salama, WHO Deputy Director-General, Emergency Preparedness and Response. "Working with partners and responding early and in a coordinated way will be vital to containing this deadly disease."This is Congo's ninth outbreak of Ebola virus disease since the discovery of the virus in the country in 1976. The Michigan Department of Transportation says 40-50 cars and semis have been involved in an accident on I-94 in Jackson County, located about 80 miles west of Detroit.According to an MDOT traffic map, the crash appears to be on Westbound I-94 at Race Rd., exit 147 between Ann Arbor and Jackson.Three people reportedly suffered minor injuries in the pileup.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Blackman-Leoni Public Safety are responding to the crash scene.Westbound I-94 is currently closed at the accident site.   610
