SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Singer Alicia Keys and her husband, rapper and music producer Swizz Beatz, are behind the purchase of a a -million mansion on the cliffs of La Jolla, according to the Wall Street Journal.The paper, citing sources familiar with the deal, say Keys and Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, bought the 10,600-square-foot home that is said to have inspired Tony Stark's Malibu home in the "Iron Man" film franchise. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police Saturday honored a local boy who risked his life to save his younger brother from drowning.Police say 10-year-old Ulises Frausto and his 7-year-old brother did not know how to swim when they were in a pool together. The brothers were holding onto the side of the pool when Frausto's brother lost his grip and sunk to the bottom.Despite not knowing how to swim, police say Frausto put his life on the line, swimming to the bottom of the pool to rescue his little brother. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Some residents picking up trash in a City Heights neighborhood were met by a disturbing sight and an ominous warning near a homeless encampment.Blocks from an elementary school on Fairmont Avenue, Matt Armstrong and a friend collected more than seven bags of trash in a culvert near the small encampment Wednesday. The next day, he and his friend were at it again, when they saw it. In front of a tent and hanging from a limb was a noose and a handmade sign inches away."It says, 'Trespassers will hang by the heads,'" said Armstrong.Armstrong, a black belt, wasn't intimidated, but the warning is one he takes seriously."Something like this sends a message that they will hurt you. There are no rules. It's disconcerting," said Armstrong.The safety issue becoming more prominent the last few years as more and more local residents have reported to 10News about encounters with aggressive transients. Unwilling to back down, Armstrong ventured back into the brush, where several homeless told him the transient who hung the noose wasn't there."They told me it was a joke, but it's not funny to me. People should not feel unsafe in their own neighborhood," said Armstrong.Armstrong also filed a complaint about the noose with the city. We reached out to city officials but have yet to hear back. 1346

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police searched Friday for a very tall man who robbed a Hillcrest bank with a semi-automatic handgun. The man walked into the California Bank and Trust at 3737 Fifth Avenue about 9:15 a.m., police said. Officers said the man demanded money from a teller who gave him cash, then he ran from the bank. A witness said the man dropped some of the money as he fled the area. No injuries were reported. Police said the man is black, 6’5” tall, and 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a fisherman's hat, dark sunglasses, a dark colored hoodie, and khaki pants. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police saved a driver whose SUV got stuck in the path of an oncoming train in Little Italy Tuesday morning.The vehicle was stuck on the track at 1:30 a.m. near West Grape Street and California Street, approximately 100 yards south of the railroad crossing.Police were on the scene and helped the driver out of the SUV, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies who assisted in the investigation.A southbound Amtrak train was traveling 35 miles an hour when the train operator saw the vehicle on the track.The operator applied the emergency brake but was unable to stop in time, and collided with the vehicle.The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Neither the driver nor any passenger on the train was hurt. 771
