EL CAJON (KGTV) -- A group firefighters battling a house fire in El Cajon rescued two of their own from under burning debris Tuesday morning.Heartland Fire & Rescue crews were called to a two-story structure fire in the 1300 block of Helix View Drive around 3 a.m. and discovered a home fully engulfed with flames reaching as high as 50-feet.As firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, a burning section of the home collapsed trapping two of them. Both were quickly pulled out from under the rubble.One of the firefighters was treated and transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The condition of the second firefighter is unknown at this time.The homeowner told 10News that all family members were able to evacuate the burning home safely. The fire has since been extinguished but crews remain on scene. 837

EL CAJON (CNS) - A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was shot multiple times, possibly at a two-vehicle traffic crash in El Cajon, a police lieutenant said With details still sketchy, a little after 9:45 p.m. Saturday police received several calls of loud noises in the area of the 1500 block of East Washington Avenue, where officers discovered a man who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds, said El Cajon police Lt. Walt Miller.Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital and officers also discovered a two-vehicle traffic crash in the same area.Multiple people fled from the crash, Miller said. Dolly Parton spent Thursday at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital to celebrate a deeply personal milestone. Her niece, Hannah Dennison, turns 30 years old on Sunday — a birthday Parton wasn't always sure she'd be able to celebrate."Twenty-six years ago is when Hannah was diagnosed with leukemia, and for five years we didn't know if we'd be keeping her or not," Parton told a room full of doctors, nurses, patients and families. "But Hannah now stands here as our chemo hero. EAST VILLAGE (KGTV) -- A woman was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in the East Village Saturday night.San Diego police received numerous calls to an apartment complex on Market Street and Park Boulevard around 10 p.m. about a woman throwing objects out of a window. Officers arrived and found broken glass and furniture on the sidewalk below an apartment.Officials say the woman refused to listen to police and brandished a knife while out the window, continuing to throw objects. The woman refused to come out of the building, prompting police to force their way into the apartment. The woman locked herself in the bathroom, police say. Police used verbal directions, chemical agents, and a police canine to attempt to get the woman into custody, but the woman continued to refuse.The woman grabbed and punched the police canine. When officers made their way into the bathroom, police say she threatened them with a knife. “One officer fearing that he was going to be struck or stabbed with a knife, fired at least one round striking the female,” said Capt. Rich Freedman of the San Diego Police Department.The woman was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot injuries. The officers were not injured, although some people were hit by objects being thrown out of the window. The woman has not been identified, but she is a 26-year-old resident of San Diego, according to SDPD.The name of the officer involved in the shooting was not released, be he has been with the department for more than 11 years, police said. 1572
