Because she is a minor we are withholding her identity, but the student recording admits she interrupted class by talking with a friend. She says the principal then overreacted. He can be held yelling at the students to shut up and to go to another school if they don’t like it. He calls one student a big mouth. “I was scared. One girl was crying, because he has two faces, one for the parents and for us,” said the student. “I cannot imagine watching a teacher treat my children this way,” said Kaytlyn Dell, who is the student’s older sister. She is speaking for her parents because they do not speak English. “Kids are screaming. Teachers are screaming. There is no structure,” said Dell. “Anything short of treating children with dignity and respect, parents, colleagues, administrators, is unacceptable. So anytime that is compromised we take that very seriously and address the matter swiftly,” said Michael Conran, Superintendent of Global Education Excellence Schools, which runs several charter schools. A right-wing political action committee has taken credit for staging a viral video taken at a town hall meeting held by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, in which an attendee suggested that eating babies was a solution to the climate crisis.The video was taken Thursday at a town hall held by Ocasio-Cortez in her home district of Queens, New York. After asking the crowd for questions, a woman stood up and began speaking."We only have a few months left. I love that you support the New Green Deal, but it's not getting rid of fossil fuels. It's not going to solve the problem fast enough," the woman said. "A Swedish professor has suggested eating dead people, but that's not fast enough. So I think your new campaign slogan should be this: We have to start eating babies."The unidentified woman was eventually led out of the town hall. Ocasio-Cortez did not respond to the woman's suggestion but instead pivoted to fighting climate change.The video eventually got the attention of President Donald Trump. An African American woman says she was discriminated against at J. Alexander’s restaurant in West Bloomfield, Michigan, when she was asked to give up her seat to a white man and refused service. She is calling for the termination of all employees involved. Lia Gant, her attorney Maurice Davis, and Jerrick Jackson, another patron at the restaurant last Thursday who says he was called the N-word, held a press conference Monday. “We refuse to backslide into a nation where black people are told to give up their seat to white people, where black people are denied services at restaurants,” said Davis. Thursday’s incident began when a white bartender asked Lia Gant and her friend to give up their seats at the bar for two white men, according to Gant. When Gant refused, the bartender took her drink and poured it down the sink. “I immediately got up and went to management and she said I shouldn’t be upset because the drink wasn’t thrown on me,” said Gant. Gant said she paid the bill after the manager refused to remove it. "I was racially profiled. I was told to move out of my seat for two other white men to be seated," she said. Meanwhile, Jackson said he was also discriminated against on the same day, when a white patron called him the N-word and told him to leave after he complained to management about poor service. Video was recorded as the white customer yelled at Jackson, hurled food, and nearly struck Gant’s friend in the face. When West Bloomfield police arrived, Jackson says the restaurant employees concealed the identity of the patron who threw food at them. “We will fight to ensure that J. Alexander’s is held accountable for denying our client’s rights to a public accommodation in violation of her fundamental civil rights,” said Davis in a release. A melee marred the end of Thursday's NFL game that saw the Cleveland Browns defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-7, in a battle between two traditional rivals. With just eight seconds remaining, Browns defender Myles Garrett ripped the helmet off of Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. Garrett then used the helmet to strike Rudolph. This came as players from both the Browns and Steelers were exchanging punches and shoves. The incident began when Rudolph made a short pass while Garrett was attempting a sack. As the two players were on the ground, it appeared Rudolph may have been either trying to remove Garrett's helmet, or had his hand stuck in Garrett's helmet. Then Garrett pulled Rudolph's lid off, and Rudolph responded by getting into a shoving match with Garrett. That is when Garrett struck Rudolph in the head with Rudolph's helmet.
