SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Eldahmy Wellness Pharmacy just received a shipment of test strip kits that can detect signs of COVID-19 in the blood."I usually compare it to the blood glucose machine," said Ahmed Eldahmy, an advanced practice pharmacist who owns Eldahmy Wellness Pharmacy's two locations in La Jolla and Barrio Logan. "Hopefully in the future this point-of-care testing will be available in every doctor's office, clinic, pharmacy."The kits are allowed by the FDA for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) as of March 31, 2020. "We take a drop of blood and we put it in this spot at the bottom of the test. A new law signed by Governor Jerry Brown went into effect January 1 lifting the helmet requirement for adult scooter users. AB 2989 removes the mandate for riders of motorized scooters to wear a bicycle helmet as long they are older than 18. It also forbids riding a motorized scooter on highways with a speed limit greater than 25 mph and roads with a speed limit greater than 35 mph, unless there is a marked bikeway. DUI laws still apply to scooter users and riders must have a valid driver’s license or permit. Helmets are required for those under the age of 18. People can still be cited for lying the scooter down on a sidewalk to impede traffic or riding scooter with a passenger. 807

Since the start of the 2020-21 school year, SDSU has reported seven positive cases.The unidentified students all live off-campus and were only on campus to seek testing at the Student Health Services Outdoor COVID-19 Test Collection Booth, university officials said. The three students did not interact with any SDSU employees or spaces outside of the SHS, according to officials."We have quickly identified and are speaking with the individuals known to have been in direct contact with these students.
