SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Students at an East San Diego school will meet Thursday to decide how to honor two classmates murdered in Tijuana this month.Christopher Alexis Gomez, a 17-year-old senior at O'Farrell Charter School in Encanto, and 18-year-old Juan Suarez-Ojeda, who graduated from the same school last year, were found shot to death in Tijuana on Nov. 25. Gomez's cousin, Katheryn Garcia, told 10News Wednesday that the two teens were likely tortured in different locations before being killed execution-style and left in front of the Lomas Verdes housing complex.Another teen believed to be Ojeda's friend was also killed.Students at O'Farrell Charter are set to meet with school officials Thursday to decide how to honor their two classmates. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego-based U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a sex offender and stopped smuggling at sea over the holiday weekend, Customs and Border Patrol officials announced Thursday. Agents spotted a man in East San Diego County about six miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border at 12:30 a.m. on July 6. The 53-year-old Honduran national did not have any documents verifying his residency, officials said. Agents took the unidentified Honduran man to a station for processing. They discovered he had been convicted of sexually assaulting a child and sentenced to prison in New Hampshire in 2008, according to the CBP. The man will be processed for illegal re-entry after removal, officials said. A U.S. Coast Guard cutter made the second significant arrest of the holiday weekend, officials said. The crew intercepted a boat off Point Loma the evening of July 7. Although it appeared to have one person on board, Coast Guard crew members found an additional 12 people suspected of trying to enter the U.S. illegally, officials reported. The group taken into custody included nine men and two women from Mexico, and a Salvadoran man and woman. Border Patrol Agents also arrested 530 people who tried to cross the border illegally over the long weekend. 1270

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Unified School District officials confirmed to 10News Thursday that a teacher has been placed on leave while investigators look into accusations that he exposed a sixth-grade class to pornography.Officials said they were first notified Monday after a parent reported the alleged incident happened during a physical education class at Horace Mann Middle School, located at 4345 54th Street in San Diego."San Diego Unified is investigating the incident that allegedly occurred at Mann Middle School. The employee has been placed on leave pending the investigation,” district officials said.The district said it has spoken with at least 10 students regarding the report. There were at least 24 students in the class.District officials and district police are investigating."It's reprehensible," Craig Tinson, whose 12-year-old grandson attends the school, said. "Becuase the students are very impressionable. They're looking for adults to be the leader and unfortunately, it was compromised on this occasion."A parent of one of the students told 10News that her son was in the class when the teacher allegedly showed the students an adult video of a man and woman engaged in sexual activities. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police released Thursday the name of a man who was shot and died after reportedly breaking in to a San Carlos home. Hollis Forman, 38, entered the home in the 6300 block of Lake Shore Drive July 16 and began fighting with the 54-year-old homeowner, police said. The homeowner’s wife called 911 as her husband confronted the man. Police said the homeowner’s 20-year-old son grabbed a gun and shot Forman, who ran out the back door and fell into the pool. RELATED: Suspected burglar shot to death, resident injured during San Carlos home break-inWhen officers arrived, they found the homeowner suffering from stab wounds to his upper body and Forman in the pool, dead from a gunshot wound, according to investigators.
