TUCSON, Ariz. — Police in Marana, Arizona are investigating after a man was reportedly holding a gun in his lap at a Starbucks near Cortaro and I-10 Saturday morning.Marana Police say around 8:45 a.m. there was a report of the man having his finger on the trigger of an un-holstered gun. The man was detained without incident when officers arrived. No one was hurt.Authorities say the man, 51-year-old James Vincent Delaney, was arrested and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Facility on felony Disorderly Conduct and Weapons Misconduct related charges.  592

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa police major is suing several media companies for publishing comments he made in a radio interview in June.Major Travis Yates has filed a lawsuit against Comcast, Gannett, Public Radio Tulsa, Gatehouse Media and others, saying their reports portrayed him in a "false light."During a June appearance on Talk Radio 1170 with host Pat Campbell, Yates said data shows systemic racism "doesn't exist" and "all the research says we're shooting African Americans about 24% less than we ought to be based on the crimes being committed."In the days following his comments, the Tulsa Police Department opened an investigation into Yates, and Tulsa Mayor G.T. Two medical facilities have advised the state of Louisiana that they are laying off more than 250 employees because of damage sustained during Hurricane Laura.WARN notices, which are required when a certain number or percentage of employees are to lose their jobs, were sent to the state by the Lake Charles Memorial Health System and Oceans Behavioral Hospital of Lake Charles.LCMHS has laid off 205 employees, and Oceans has laid off about 50, according to their WARN letters to the state."Lake Charles Memorial Health System will experience a reduction in its workforce, and a number of employees of the Moss Memorial Campus, support services and the Archer Campus will experience layoffs, as a result of damage sustained from Hurricane Laura," the September 28 WARN letter states. "It is with regret that I must report to you that the company has decided to reduce its operations at Lake Charles Memorial Health System. As a result, we anticipate that we will permanently lay off approximately 205 employees on today."The company's website indicates that many facilities are now open for business. There's a lot of damage, and it is not even known at this time if they can repair the facility, the letter states. TULSA -- Dash cam video released Monday shows a man smash a Tulsa Police Department vehicle with a large pipe.Police said on Aug. 7 around 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to Brookhaven Hospital for a patient attempting to leave.The man was later found on I-244 eastbound.The man is seen smashing an officer's window. Police said the man was experiencing a mental health crisis.The man was tackled and officers returned him to the hospital.No arrests were made.  475
