SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Federal investigators are looking for a woman and getaway driver who attempted to rob a South Bay bank last December.A female suspect approached a bank teller just after 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2017, at the Bank of America located at 605 Saturn Boulevard in Imperial Beach. The woman presented a note to the teller, demanding money, according to the FBI.However, the teller refused to comply with the woman's demands.The woman left without any money and met an awaiting driver outside before fleeing the area.FBI investigators described the suspect as a Hispanic woman between 25- and 35-years-old, about 5-feet 6-inches tall, and with medium build. She was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and gold-rimmed sunglasses.The getaway car is described as a silver Ford Mustang with a black racing stripe down the center. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Horton Plaza's sale to real-estate firm Stockdale Capital Partners hopes to revitalize the plaza back to its former glory.10News reported the downtown shopping center was in escrow back in June. Now, plans for the site's future are being released, including a hub for mixed-use offices, retail, and restaurants, according to the firm's plans. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds of protesters gathered in Balboa Park Monday evening, the third day of protests in the San Diego region. A large group began coalescing near the San Diego Police Department headquarters near Broadway and 13th St in the afternoon. As night fell, the group marched up Park Boulevard past San Diego City College and into Balboa Park. Law enforcement officers followed closely. Freeway on-ramps and off-ramp were blocked by CHP officers in tactical gear along the route, preventing protesters from accessing the freeways. After marching through the park, the group stopped near El Prado and Sixth Ave. Many in the group laid down on their stomachs with their arms behind their backs, chanting “I can’t breathe,” in honor of George Floyd, the unarmed black man killed in police custody in Minnesota on May 25, 2020. Afterwards, they held a moment of silence for those killed at the hands of police. Many demonstrators dispersed after, though a group began forming again outside SDPD headquarters. At 10:25, SDPD tweeted that “bottles, fireworks and other objects” were being thrown at officers near their headquarters. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Hundreds gathered outside Fire Station 21 in Pacific Beach Tuesday evening to remember a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department firefighter killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.Ryan Ferrara, 39, was riding on the back of the motorcycle as a passenger when it crashed into a parked vehicle. It happened July 18 at the 13000 block of Piping Rock Lane in the Lakeside area.The driver of the motorcycle was hospitalized; he has not yet been identified.
