It's an invasion of privacy," said Jessica.Jessica says her card never did contain any cash or gift cards, but others on base haven't been as lucky."They're furious, and they want something done," said Jessica.Jessica says on various Facebook pages connected to the base, hundreds have posted photos of tampered mail received in the past two months. The envelopes are usually missing cash, gift cards or checks."Pretty disgusting. Pretty shameful ... It's no accident it's happening to us. Military families are an easy target. We're not with our families. Families make up for it by sending us a little extra, definitely for our kids," said Jessica.So what is the commonality when it comes to the mail? It's processed and delivered by the Postal Service. The closest post office is about a mile-and-a-half from the base.The Postal Inspection Service confirms they've begun an investigation, along with an internal probe. Border Patrol agents pulled the woman over near the Oceanside Harbor Interstate 5 exit just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. After becoming suspicious of the driver’s behavior, agents found more than 48 pounds of the drug inside a duffle bag in the trunk. The 26-year-old driver, a Mexican national with a valid tourist visa, was arrested for felony drug trafficking. The minor child was placed in the care of local child protective services. And he’s not scared to show you the lifestyle that he’s living using other people’s hard earned money,” said Pasco Detective Spencer Hubbell.Hubbell has a whole file cabinet dedicated to catching Santos. He’s been arrested 55 times just in Pasco County, Florida.And he’s says this latest arrest should finally stick.Investigators said Santos was running a fraud operation, using stolen debit and credit cards, and bogus checks to bring in millions of dollars.“It’s feasible he was doing between ,000 to ,000 a day at times,” Hubbell said.Detectives said Santos, a suspected members of the Bloods gang, would raid accounts until the bank realized what was happening.In most cases, those banks would take the loss and the customers didn’t actually lose any money.US Marshall’s arrested Santos in Miami where he was living in a luxury condo.“Mr. Santos has never had a job. He’s never paid taxes. The store will be split into three units, with each one selling for per night, but the catch is it’s only open to residents of Deschutes County, Oregon, where the final Blockbuster Video remains.Blockbuster will provide snacks, soft drinks and pizza with the units. The units will also have access to a huge collection of Blockbuster’s stock.The units are available for up to four people, but can only be rented for one night per family.Following three nights of stays, the Oregon Blockbuster will allow visitors to see the units during regular business hours for a limited time.The Bend, Oregon, Blockbuster became the final location open of the mega video rental chain in 2018 after a pair of Alaska locations closed. OCEANSIDE (KGTV): A program that offers daily, hot meals to seniors in Oceanside is running out of money and could be forced to close."It’s stressful, it’s super stressful," says Sylvia Spears, the Executive Director of the Oceanside Senior Citizens Association. "I've had sleepless nights, and I’m trying to figure out who do we pay, who do we not pay?"The program gives seniors a hot lunch every day at the Oceanside Senior Citizens Center. For people who can't make it, they also offer home delivery. For a lot of the seniors, it's the only hot meal and the only personal interaction they get all day."We become friends," says Patricia Bonynge, who's been coming to the meals for almost ten years. "Even though we don’t go to each other’s homes or talk on the phone, we come here, and we converse."Bonynge also used the home delivery service for a few months after she had foot surgery and couldn't drive or walk. She says it was a lifeline while she recovered.Spears says the program serves around 50,000 meals every year. That number continues to grow as Americans live longer."Clients are up; donations are down," she says.Right now, the meals are partially funded through a grant from the County. It's part of the Federal "Older Americans Act." The grant is a three-year contract, which expires on December 31st, 2018.But this year, Spears says she decided not to reapply because he hasn't been able to come up with enough money to cover the rest of the budget."Right now we need about 15,000 dollars extra per month to keep going," she says. "That includes our food, kitchen supplies and our trucks."Other organizations, like Meals on Wheels, could step in to fill the gap. Spears is also talking to the City of Oceanside for funding. There's a closed-session City Council meeting Wednesday night to address the issue.The city already lets the Association rent the Senior Center facilities and kitchen for per year. They also work with the San Diego Food Bank to do a monthly food box distribution for seniors who qualify.Despite that, city officials say they realize how important the hot meal program is to older residents."It gives them hope," says City Recreation Supervisor Homer Post. "That hope is what allows them to live until the next day. If you don’t take care of your elderly, you can’t take care of anything that you got going on."Spears is hopeful that someone will come through with a donation to keep the meals going.
