Two students were taken into custody after they set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for ammunition to "shoot up" Combs High School in San Tan Valley, Arizona, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Last week, deputies responded to the school for a report of a threat.According to PCSO, a student reported to school officials that they had overheard two students talking about bringing a gun to school. Deputies say a 15-year-old student had threatened to file off the serial number of a gun and bring it to campus. A second student reportedly helped the 15-year-old set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for ammunition. "The site explained that ammunition was expensive and they needed help to shoot up Combs High School," PCSO said in a statement. The first student did not have any weapons, but the second student did have access to weapons at his home, deputies said.The second student reportedly told deputies that he did not know who created the GoFundMe account but was there when it was created. The GoFundMe account has since been removed, deputies said. Both students were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism and interference or disruption of an education institution.  1264

Two people were shot and killed at a Kroger store in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, the police chief said Wednesday.The suspect is in custody, according to Chief Sam Rogers. There was no known motive and it appears the victims were shot at random, he said.The unidentified suspect entered the store and fired multiple shots at a man inside, killing him. The suspect left, encountered a woman in the parking lot and fatally shot her, Roger said.An unnamed armed citizen in the parking lot exchanged gunfire with the suspect; neither was struck. The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended nearby, police said.A Jeffersontown police dispatcher said officers remain on the scene."We are shocked and saddened by the shooting incident that occurred around 2:30 p.m. today," Kroger said. "Thanks to the quick response of the local police department, the suspect was apprehended and our store is now secure."Jeffersontown is about 13 miles southeast of Louisville.Federal law enforcement agencies are aiding in the investigation.Jeffersontown police Maj. Two journalists from WYFF-TV based out of Greenville, South Carolina were killed Monday afternoon when a tree fell on their SUV while covering a storm that was causing flooding in the area, the station confirmed. WYFF anchor Mike McCormick and WYFF photojournalist Aaron Smeltzer were killed by the tree that landed on the SUV. The incident happened in Polk County, North Carolina. Tryon Fire Chief Geoffrey Tennant told WYFF that the SUV's engine was running when authorities reached the scene around 2:30 p.m. on Monday. The tree was reportedly 3 feet in diameter. Heavy rain in the area caused the roots of the tree to fail, Tennant told the station. "It personally affected me a little bit because I had done an interview with Mr. McCormick about 10 minutes before we got the call. And we had talked a little bit about how he wanted us to stay safe and I wanted him to stay safe and of course 10 or 15 minutes later we got the call and it was him and his photographer," Tennant said. "It's the first time I ever met either one of those two gentleman, but you feel a sense of responsibility to them."McCormick joined the station in 2007 as a reporter, and was promoted to anchor in 2014. Smeltzer joined the station in February.  1310

John Lewis in his hometown in Alabama on Saturday.Lewis died at 80 years old on Friday, July 17, after a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
