(KGTV) - Naval Criminal Investigative Services announced Friday the arrests of two additional Marines and a sailor, bringing the total of troops suspected of human smuggling and drug-related offenses to 19. Sixteen of the service members were taken into custody Thursday at Camp Pendleton during Battalion formation, a gathering of some 800 troops, U.S. Marine Corps officials said. An additional eight troops were questioned about drug offenses unrelated to the arrests, said Maj. Kendra Motz, 1st Marine Division Communication Strategy Operations Director. Two of the detainees were later arrested, said officials.“The Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment will act within his authority to hold the Marines accountable at the appropriate level, should they be charged,” said Motz. Both men are charged with smuggling “for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain,” the complaint said. Agents said three undocumented immigrants got into the Marines’ vehicle on Interstate 8, according to the complaint. (KGTV) — Newly released video shows the moment a Portland high school coach disarmed a student who brought a loaded shotgun to school in May.Keanon Lowe, Parkrose High School's head football and track coach, was in a classroom full of students when the gunman, identified as Angel Granados Dias, came in with shotgun on May 17, 2019, according to Portland police.In the video, Lowe brings Dias into a school hallway after appearing to disarm the student. Lowe is seen holding the shotgun before handing it off to another staff member. The coach continues to hold the student and embrace him in a hug, as the staff member leaves with the firearm and students flee from the classroom.Lowe, a former Oregon Ducks football player and NFL coach, says he lunged for the gun with both hands inside the classroom when he realized what was happening.The coach said he told Dias he was there for him and that his life was worth saving. Investigators say Dias was suffering a mental health crisis and only intended to hurt himself, Portland ABC-affiliate KATU reported."Then it was just me and that student. It was a real emotional time. It was emotional for him, it was emotional for me," Lowe told KATU in May. "In that time, I felt compassion for him. A 5th grade teacher may have been forced out because she wears a hijab.That’s the allegation against Melvindale/Northern Allen Park School District in a lawsuit filed this past week.The lawyer for Amirah Mosed said the way she was treated at work at Allendale Elementary School isn't right and in the lawsuit they allege Mosed was subjected to a hostile environment where she was told to “get a job in Dearborn” among other things, harassment that they say is against the law. “This is a woman who’s born in the U.S, who is very American and a wonderful teacher and just a great person with a sense of humor, a delightful human being,” attorney David Nacht said.Nacht said his client endured religious discrimination while she taught 5th grade.In the lawsuit against the district there are allegations Mosed was told by supervisors to resign or get fired, to “get a job in Dearborn,” told her students were not safe with her, all because she is of Yemini descent and dresses, culturally, in a hijab.”It got worse and the students loved her and she was written up and fired and it’s bologna. and its not America,” Nacht said.The allegations are discrimination and harassment on the basis of her religion. Nacht said there were no legitimate concerns about her teaching abilities.“She was just not perceived to fit the community to fit the school,” Nacht said. “What this case is really about making America safe in the workplace, for all Americans. (KGTV) -- Tuesday, SpaceX launchged several satellites into orbit that will replace a satellite network and monitor climate change. The Iridium-6/GRACE-FO satellites were launched just before 1 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base. For this particular mission, SpaceX launched five Iridium NEXT satellites as part of the company's campaign to replace the world's largest commercial satellite network. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are planned with the company that will send into orbit 75 new satellites. Also on board the Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites that will monitor the movement of earth's mass for NASA and the German Research Centre for Geosciences.Watch the launch in the player below:  775
