CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - On Wednesday, Rear Adm. Collin Green sent notice to Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher that his status as a SEAL is under review, according to his lawyer.The process, commonly called a Trident Review, could strip Gallagher of his trident pin and remove him from the SEAL teams, though his rank and paygrade in the Navy would not be changed.“It’s ordinarily a procedure used for a substandard performer or somebody who’s committing safety violations,” said Timothy Parlatore, a civilian attorney for Gallagher.RELATED: Trump restores rank of San Diego Navy SEAL following war crimes caseParlatore said Gallagher is planning on retiring as soon as possible, so the move to strip his trident pin would not have any dramatic effect on his current role.“It has no legitimate value for someone about to retire,” said Parlatore. “It is purely a retaliation. COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in Columbus, Ohio, have released police body camera footage showing the moments early Tuesday when an officer on a nonemergency call fatally shot a Black man who was holding a cellphone as he emerged from a garage.Warning: the video in this story is graphic in nature and contains scenes that some may find disturbing.The video released Wednesday shows the Columbus officer approaching an open garage and the man walking along a car out of the garage.The man, identified as Andre' Maurice Hill, is holding up the phone in his left hand.The officer fires and Hill drops to the ground.The officer is then heard yelling at Hill to move his hands to the side and to roll over.The officer, Adam Coy, and a female officer responded to a call from the neighborhood that reported a vehicle running in the street on and off for an extended period of time, according to the Columbus Dispatch.The officers did not have their body cameras turned on at the time of the shooting, however the Columbus Dispatch reports the cameras have a 60-second "look back" feature that captures 60-seconds of video, no audio, before a camera is turned on. The video released Thursday indicates the officer turned on the body camera immediately after the shooting.Columbus police confirm Coy has been relieved of duty as of Tuesday afternoon. 1356

COVID-19 is changing the way we do a lot of things, and one of those things include how you get treatment from a doctor.Craig Nuttall, a nursing professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, says he also works in an emergency room when he's not teaching, and he has found that using a regular stethoscope is almost impossible when he's equipped with personal protective equipment."I’ve been working with Dr. Teng on this digital stethoscope for another project in India and I thought this is the perfect application for this," said Nuttall.Using an existing open-source 3D printed design, Nuttall worked with Chia-Chi Teng, an information technology professor at BYU, to create a digital stethoscope.It works with an app to live stream or record a patient's heartbeat up to a range of 50 feet to a pair of Bluetooth headphones or a speaker.The patient would hold it up to points on their chest under the direction of a doctor or nurse.Teng says another great thing about this is it's easy to put together with just a few parts.He helped develop the 3D printed parts to form a functional, digital stethoscope that costs less than to make.Both professors admit that while digital stethoscopes have been around for some time, they are still expensive, so this is a low-cost way to make them for doctors across the country and even around the world.Nuttall said, "I’ve been using this over the past month as I worked in the emergency department on several patients, so I use it on any patient who has COVID-like symptoms."In addition to protecting healthcare staff, Nuttall said he wants the digital stethoscope to be used for things like telemedicine, treating patients in isolation, and in developing countries that don't have access to healthcare.Instructions on how to build a 3D printed digital stethoscope can be found here and the accompanying Stethogram iOS app is available here.This story originally reported by Jordan Hogan on fox13now.com. 1961
