WASHINGTON — Comedians are making their return to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after last year's hiatus. Kenan Thompson, the actor and longest-tenured “Saturday Night Live” cast member, will host this year’s dinner, which takes place April 25. Hasan Minhaj, the Peabody award-winning host of Netflix’s “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj,” will return to the dinner as a featured entertainer.“Kenan and Hasan are two of the most engaged and engaging entertainers in America. Utah Jazz Rudy Gobert apologized on Thursday after testing positive for the coronavirus, which caused the NBA to cancel Wednesday's game between the Jazz and Thunder. Later in the evening on Wednesday, the NBA decided to indefinitely suspend play for all 30 teams. Earlier in the week, Gobert jokingly touched reporters' microphones at the end of a news conference. The touching came as public health officials recommend keeping objects disinfected and people engage in social distancing. Gobert's actions happened before he came down with any symptoms of coronavirus. It was learned on Thursday that a fellow member of the Jazz also tested positive for coronavirus. "I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last 24 hours," Gobert said. "I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis…mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment."The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Surgeon General is urging Americans to “stop buying masks!” Jerome M. Adams, in the photo above, tweeted the advisory Saturday morning, saying that the face masks are not effective in preventing the general public from catching the novel coronavirus. The respiratory disease that the virus causes has been named COVID-19.Adams went on to warn that if health care providers can’t access the masks to care for sick patients, it could put them and their communities at risk. 512

Two Target employees were recognized this week by Stow Police in Northeast Ohio on a Facebook post for preventing an elderly couple from being scammed out of thousands of dollars.Authorities said that the couple walked into the store while taking a phone call and then purchased ,000 worth of gift cards after they hung up. The employees, Amy Waffen and Alyssa Denson, thought something was fishy about it and notified police.It turns out the couple had just come from another Target location an hour earlier where they purchased ,000 worth of gift cards. Authorities determined that the couple were targeted in a scam. Target also voided the transaction to keep the couple from losing money.“The Stow Police Department encourages our citizens and businesses to alert the police to this type of suspicious activity. If you have any suspicion, you are probably correct. Help us prevent further people from losing their hard-earned money.
