SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco police say they arrested a man suspected in the abduction of a ring-tailed lemur from the city’s zoo, where officials rewarded a 5-year-old boy who helped recapture the endangered primate with a lifetime membership. Police said Friday that a 30-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with the theft and will face charges in San Francisco. Zoo officials thanked authorities and the young boy who initially spotted the lemur wandering around the grounds of his preschool and alerted school officials, who called authorities. 576

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray announced his resignation Tuesday, hours after new sexual abuse allegations surfaced against the embattled politician.The mayor's announcement comes after his cousin gave an interview with the Seattle Times alleging abuse, the latest in a series of allegations against the mayor. The cousin is the fifth person to accuse Murray of child sexual abuse.Murray denied the allegations, as he has in the past. He said he was resigning effective 5 p.m. Wednesday so the scandal would no longer overshadow his office. SeaWorld said Monday it rescued a bottlenose dolphin last week that suffered serious injuries after it was attacked by a shark in North Florida.The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission called SeaWorld to help rescue the 265-pound dolphin after it was discovered along Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.Because of the life-threatening injuries, animal experts decided to transport the animal to SeaWorld Orlando for rehabilitation.Officials said the dolphin sustained multiple shark bite wounds to her body and right pectoral flipper.After treatment, the dolphin was able to swim unsupported at the park’s rescue facility.SeaWorld said they are currently providing the dolphin 24-hour care to help it gain strength. 754
