A student at Island Park High School in Florida was suspended after the principal and other staff members saw him imitating a gun with his hands and pretending to shoot in a classroom.This happened Friday. "You shouldn't be doing something like that at all," former Island Park High School student Devan Hinton said."It's just not something to be taken lightly," Sam Sherman, who lives in Fort Myers, told Scripps station WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida.The principal called the Lee County Sheriff's Office to file an incident report after he saw the student "imitating a rifle with his hands and pointing it to the classroom."Another staff member described the student making "a gesture with his arm simulating as if he was firing a weapon into the classroom."A third staff member said the student "stood in the classroom doorway and made a machine gun style pose with his arms pretending to shoot at the classroom.""That isn't OK. With everything going on, that's not something to joke about. I called the student’s mother to inform her of what had occurred and let her know I would be working with the student in the future to ensure this behavior does not reoccur.When the student returns to school he will be informed that any future actions such as this one will result in a suspension or expulsion from school. Scripps that the U.S. citizens died on Oct. 28 while in Turks and Caicos.USA Today reported that New York Attorney Mohammad Malik, 35, and his bride, Dr. Noor Shan, 29, were married just four days when they drowned after being pulled under a rip current near their resort.The groom's father, Maqbool Malik, told Long Island Newsday that the loss is "devastating."He told the newspaper that the couple was pulled out from the water by witnesses, who performed CPR, but they both died at the scene.According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, riptides are "powerful, narrow channels of fast-moving water."Officials with the State Department offered their "sincerest condolences to their loved ones on their loss" and said it had "worked to provide all appropriate consular assistance to the families" and "out of respect to the families during this difficult time, we have no further comment." 1075

A suspect is in custody after a hospital in New Hampshire was locked down due to an active shooter situation, which authorities described as a "domestic situation." One person was killed during Tuesday's incident. A public housing building in Cleveland Heights, Ohio has become a target for at least one scammer posing as a nurse and offering free cancer screenings. But instead of giving people help, she walks away with personal information.One victim, Azzizat Crumble said she was flipping through the channels on Saturday when she heard a knock on the door."Opened the door and she said she was from Stephanie Tubbs' and they were going around doing cancer screenings," Crumble said.The woman was dressed in scrubs and even offering an incentive.  "If we were to agree to it, we would get a 0 gift card to Walmart in the mail," Crumble said.Crumble said it's not uncommon to see nurses in her assisted living building, so she agreed."She was like, 'Before we do it, I am going to need to see your ID and Medicaid card.' So I went and got it and she wrote the information down in a notebook," Crumble recalled.The woman then proceeded to swab Crumble's cheeks and was on her way within 10 minutes."And then she was like, 'Okay, well you will receive your card within five to seven business days," said Crumble.Crumble said she didn't think anything of it until she saw a sign on a bulletin board in the hallway of her complex. "Scam alert: If anyone comes to your door asking for your personal information, call the police immediately," Crumble said the sign read.Crumble said her social security number was on the Medicaid card she gave the woman, so she has since been monitoring her credit activity.Police say this is an on-going investigation. They believe at least four people were targeted, two of which handed over their personal information. Police say they do have a person of interest and potentially two others.  1848
