SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The city is running behind on a project to restore an iconic bridge that borders Hillcrest and North Park.Now, people in the area are growing frustrated at the construction on the Georgia St. bridge that's causing traffic delays and drivers to use surrounding neighborhoods as shortcuts."Traffic is very very bad because of te bridge, and I have to go around to buy stuff for my shop, and it's taking me longer to get where I want to go," said Milan Misic, who lives in the area and owns the Balboa Perk coffee and antique shop. The city is restoring the 103-year-old bridge so it can withstand an earthquake. The city broke ground on the million project in July 2016, saying it would take a year. October, 2003, the Cedar Fire broke out in the Cleveland National Forest and exploded across San Diego County. The largest wildfire in California history to that point, it killed 15 people and destroyed thousands of homes. Hardest hit were Scripps Ranch and Tierrasanta.Four years later, another firestorm raced through the north county, killing two and featuring wind gusts of over 100 miles per hour. The Witch Fire forced the evacuations of half a million people in San Diego County.Our sister TV station in Denver asked for help in covering a wildfire that burned for almost a month in Colorado. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The 21-year-old killed while driving across the trolley tracks near Encanto has been identified.The San Diego County Medical Examiner says Alex Garza, 21, was believed to be distracted, possibly on the phone, when he reportedly tried to drive his Toyota Prius across the tracks just before midnight at 60th Street and Imperial Avenue. The vehicle was struck by a trolley before it became pinned against a poll.San Diego Police and fire units responded to the scene where Garza was pronounced dead. 525
