CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) — Three people were treated for gunshot wounds and one person was taken into custody in Carlsbad following a shooting Saturday morning.Carlsbad Police responded to calls of shots fired at the Pacific View Apartment Homes complex in the 5100 block of Whitman Way just before 6 a.m.Officers arrived to find a man and woman with gunshot wounds in a courtyard area of the complex. Both were treated by Carlsbad Fire crews and taken to a nearby hospital.MAP: Crime happening in your neighborhoodPolice later located another man with a gunshot wound in the apartment complex. He too was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.Carlsbad detectives were on the scene Saturday investigating the shooting. They believe the three knew each other and the shooting was not a random act.Police said one person is in custody but did not say whether that person was one of the three who were shot. Not every app has the same restaurants on them, so you might have to use an app that has the restaurant of your liking.Door Dash was the simplest app to use because there weren’t that many choices or suggestions to help you choose what to eat.Eat 24, like many of the other apps offered food categories like American, Asian and Mexican to help you narrow down your choices.We found when placing your order on each app you had to add your credit card and address, but for Uber Eats you did not. If you have an Uber Ride Share account, it's automatically synced up to that app. It cut the ordering time in half if you were a new user.Although we used Postmates for ordering food, we learned you can use the app for ordering anything. Some use Postmates to order clothes to be picked up or getting an item from the drug store delivered to their house.No matter which app you use there’s a place to save money by adding a promo code. But, you’ll need to watch out for hidden service fees outside of the usual delivery and tax fee.A great feature all the apps have are alerts or push notifications letting you know where your food is and when it will be delivered.Almost every app delivered the food we ordered 10 minutes earlier than their estimated arrival time. Joanna Bradford returned home last Thursday and saw her front door open and damaged. "My heart started beating, immediately nervous and called police," said Bradford.Bradford eventually discovered a ransacked bathroom and bedroom. A new iPad and some jewelry had been stolen, including a gold-and-silver Omega watch belonging to her father, who passed away in 2013. He bought it in the 70s and wore it to work every day."I would put it on, look down, and see my dad. He was with me whenever I was wearing it," said Bradford.Bradford's Ring doorbell camera revealed clues about who made that watch vanish.Just before 10:30 a.m., a man wearing a blue shirt and sunglasses rings the doorbell with his knuckle. He then leaves and comes back with a backpack. That's when the motion-activated camera stops.In the next video, that man and another man are seen emerging from the home with backpacks, before getting into a vehicle, possibly a light-colored GMC Acadia SUV, and driving off. CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Four wild mice collected during routine monitoring in the Campo area have tested positive for hantavirus, county health officials say.The mice, that were collected in open space in Campo, included two California mice, one deer mouse, and one brush mouse.The mice brought the total number of rodents that have tested positive for the virus so far this year around the county to 22.Health officials say people are unlikely to be exposed to the virus because rodents generally want to live and nest away from people.The county is also reminding residents that they should never sweep or vacuum up after rodents if they find them living in spaces like homes, sheds, or garages. Instead, people are encouraged to use “wet-cleaning” methods.People are exposed to hantavirus when the urine, feces, and saliva dries and is stirred into the air and inhaled.There is no cure or vaccine for the virus and it is potentially deadly, the county says.See tips from the county below on how to use wet-cleaning methods:Avoid Exposure to Hantavirus· Seal up all external holes in homes, garages and sheds larger than a dime to keep rodents from getting in.· Eliminate rodent infestations immediately.· Avoid rodent-infested areas and do not stir up dust or materials that may be contaminated with rodent droppings and urine.· Clean up rodent droppings and urine using the wet cleaning method described below.Use “Wet-cleaning” Methods to Prevent Inhaling the Virus· Do not sweep or vacuum infested areas.· Ventilate affected area by opening doors and windows for at least 30 minutes.· Use rubber gloves. Spray a 10 percent bleach solution or other disinfectants onto dead rodents, rodent droppings, nests, contaminated traps, and surrounding areas and let the disinfectant stand for at least 15 minutes before cleaning.· Clean with a sponge or a mop that has been soaked in disinfectant.· Place disinfected rodents and debris into two plastic bags, seal them and discard in the trash.· Wash gloves in a bleach solution, then soap and water, and dispose of them using the same double-bag method.· Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water. 2157
