SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are searching for two suspects involved in a knife attack in Bay Terraces early Sunday morning that left a 30-year-old man hospitalized.The assault happened at around 4:25 a.m. in the 6900 block of Paradise Valley Road, said Ofc. Tony Martinez, San Diego Police Department The victim told police he was confronted by two men who asked him for a cigarette."An argument ensued, and during the argument, the victim was stabbed multiple times," Martinez said.Both suspects fled in a white sedan-type vehicle, according to Martinez.The victim suffered a stab wound to the neck, the left bicep and lacerations to his nose, jaw and back, Martinez said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown at this time but Martinez said he is expected to survive.The two men were described as Hispanic between 20 and 30 years old. One of the suspects stands about 6- foot, 2-inches tall weighing 180 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black jacket and blue jeans.The second suspect stands about 6-feet tall weighing 200 pounds with a heavy build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric says more than 21,000 residents could lose power amid a coming Santa Ana wind event.The company said Saturday it notified thousands of residents about the possibility of power outages to reduce wildfire risk both Monday and Tuesday.The outages could take place in south Orange County and north San Diego County. Click here to see a map of areas that could be affected.“The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for inland Orange County for 2 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday, and it has indicated that ‘any rainfall that occurs this weekend will not delay the fire weather potential for very long on early Monday,’” the company said.SDG&E says most Santa Ana winds come from the east and sweep through San Diego County’s backcountry. This event, however, is forecast to come from the north, affecting urban and coastal areas that don’t normally see public safety power outages.“Within SDG&E’s service territory, the strongest winds are expected overnight Sunday through Monday in the San Clemente and east San Juan Capistrano areas in south Orange County and the Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Pala Reservation and Fallbrook areas in north San Diego County,” SDG&E said.Drive-thru community resource centers will be available starting at 8 a.m. Monday at the Fallbrook Branch Library, 124 S. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced Thursday that several more shoreline park areas and piers and boardwalks would be reopened this week amid the COVID-19 pandemic.Mayor Faulconer says the following will be reopened in June and July:June 8: East and West Mission Bay Parks will be open for park and water use, including parking lots at 100% capacity.June 8: Fiesta Island opens to pedestrians, dogs, and cyclists only.June 9: All piers and boardwalks within city limits reopen.June 12: Balboa Park Central Mesa reopens and all Balboa Park parking lots open at 100% capacity.July 6: Fiesta Island opens to vehicles.Gatherings are still prohibited and social distancing is still required at beaches and parks. Mayor Faulconer said active sports at the beach are still banned as well."We're continuing to make meaningful progress as we continue to reopen across San Diego," Faulconer said.This week, county beaches allowed visitors to sit, sunbathe, and relax on the sand, in addition to passive activities like walking and running.Ocean activities, like swimming, surfing, kayaking, and paddle-boarding continue to be allowed. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Residents in Hillcrest are worried homeless encampments will start more fires in the area.Back in March, a canyon underneath the Vermont Street Bridge went up in flames. Fire crews say it was started from an encampment. Marina Macklin knows that problem all too well. "You're very afraid of the fires," said Macklin. "Because they move really quickly out there because it's so dry." MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodNearly two months later, debris from the Vermont Street Bridge remains in the canyon. "They cleaned it up? No." said Macklin. "It's all still there, it's all laying down there."According to the University Heights Community Association, the canyon west of the bridge is owned by Caltrans. The east side is city property. Councilman Christopher Ward's office says they've been working to clean it. "If they say they're cleaning it up they're taking their time," said Macklin. "Why?" She says cleaning it won't solve the problem. "They go down there, set up their camps, somebody starts a fire, and they leave for a while," said Macklin."The city might go down there and do a little bit of stuff and then as soon as it's all clear and they feel safe the homeless go back in there again."Councilman Ward's office said they've already added more security guards to the Hillcrest Market area. "Security guards up here don’t do anything for the canyon," said Macklin. According to San Diego Gas and Electric, nearly 24,000 people, mainly in East County, are at risk of having their power shut off. Residents in Alpine say they’re gearing up for possible outages. Employees at the Alpine Beer Company told 10News when the power goes down, their protocol is to close the bar, but keep their stock nice and cool. Humidity will also plummet, reaching an average of between only 5 to 10 percent. Meanwhile, temperatures are also expected to soar.
