LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Two men were arrested Monday after the San Diego Sheriff’s Department says they reportedly beat a man with a metal pipe in Lemon Grove. Deputies say they received a call about a man bleeding in the street around 10:43 a.m. Monday at the 7200 block of Pacific Avenue. After arriving, police found the 43-year-old mad lying on the sidewalk with a head wound. Witnesses told deputies four men in a light-blue vehicle chased the victim to the location and beat him with a “long stick, and a metal pipe.”After contacting a group of men associated with the vehicle, a 25-year-old man identified as Terrell Millard admitted to the assault. Deputies say he was booked into jail. A 15-year-old also admitted to the assault. Deputies say he was charged and released. 795

LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - More women are coming forward after a 10News investigation revealed a La Jolla restaurant owner was arrested Wednesday on 18 counts that include raping an unconscious victim and forcibly drugging a victim. Daniel Dorado is the owner of Bird Rock area's Voce Del Mare, an upscale Italian restaurant. He's now behind bars, held on 0,000 bail.Thursday, a woman who didn't want to go on-camera told us she applied for a bartending job at the restaurant a couple of years ago, but was so uncomfortable with Dorado that she declined the job opportunity. She tells us he asked her over the phone about her body type and whether she'd wear revealing clothing. She tells us the inappropriate conversation led to more harassment, after he apparently called and yelled at her that night for being unable to meet in-person. RELATED: Woman accusing restaurant owner of rape comes forward10News also spoke to a woman Thursday who says she worked at the restaurant for a brief time and also claims to have been treated inappropriately. She wanted us to protect her identity, but revealed, "He wanted to know what I was going to be wearing to work. He wanted me to take a picture of [my outfit] and text it to him." She says she quit after a few shifts.Both women felt uncomfortable with Dorado, but say they were horrified after watching a 10News exclusive interview Wednesday night with a young woman who claims he drugged and raped her three years ago when she came into the restaurant to interview for a hostess position. Her attorney says she is one of at least four women that Dorado is charged with assaulting. Dorado is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. 1715

(KGTV) - Hundreds of La Mesa neighbors came out to clean up and board up businesses Sunday morning.Albert's Fresh Mexican Food owner Albert Garzon said he saw his business get destroyed Saturday night, "there's nothing you can do about it but just watch, it was just so much chaos and just people running left and right."He said when he came back his business was being boarded up by volunteers. "Under the circumstances with the COVID to make matters worse for all these poor business owners that are barely making ends meet before this even started," Garzon said.The entire La Mesa Springs Shopping Center was covered in boards, provided by a local construction company, Meram Building."Before I even got here my business was clean, it was so many volunteers and I was, literally I had tears in my eyes," Chintu Patel, Owner of Menchie's, said.Both Patel and Garzon were thankful to see support, their heartbreak replaced with gratitude and a sense of perseverance."What the people of La Mesa have come out to do for their community is priceless and that's why we're keeping strong and we're La Mesa strong," Garzon said.Neighbors swept up glass, threw out trash and did anything that was needed. LAKE HUGHES (CNS) - A fire burning near the Lake Hughes area was 12% contained but experienced a "flare up" due to extreme heat Friday afternoon after already scorching 11,637 acres, destroying five structures and threatening more over the last three days."There is a bit of a flare up this afternoon, but we don't really have a ton of information of where that is yet because it's going on right now," a U.S. Forest Service official told City News Service late Friday afternoon.Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday, additional evacuations were ordered for the Fairmont area east of Lancaster, where residents were told to evacuate from north of Avenue D/Highway 138, south of Avenue A, west of 150th Street West and east of 200th Street West, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Palmdale Station."Fire will continue to grow and threaten the surrounding communities of Lake Hughes, Leona Valley, Lake Elizabeth, Pine Canyon, Quail Lake, Three Points, Historic Ridge Route and Inventoried Roadless Areas, fire officials said during a late-morning update Friday. "Spotting and aggressive fire behavior will continue."Fanning the flames is this weekend's heat wave, with firefighters braced for dangerously hot weather that will make battling the fire more difficult.The focus for crews on Friday was "fire suppression, air operations, evacuations as needed and structure defense operations ... line construction where possible," officials said.No injuries have been reported, but at least five structures have been destroyed and further damage assessments were being conducted.The fire was first reported at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near North Lake Hughes Road and Pine Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest, according to the U. S. Forest Service, which was battling the blaze with Los Angeles County Fire Department crews and assistance from the Los Angeles, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Monterey Park, Long Beach and Santa Monica fire departments."There have been areas of this fire that have not burned in decades, (and) it's in inaccessible terrain, which has added to the complexity of the fire," said Los Angeles County Fire Department Chief Daryl Osby.Although some structures were lost, a number of structures were saved by firefighters, he said."It's going to be a hot, dry summer -- and it's going to be a very, very hot, dry weekend," Osby said.Mandatory evacuations have been in effect for the area east of Ridge Route Road, west of Lake Hughes Road, north of Pine Canyon Road and Lake Hughes Road, and south of state Route 138, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Ron Shaffer of the Palmdale Station.There are more than 100 structures in the evacuation area, including primary residences and outbuildings, in the communities of Lake Hughes and Pine Canyon, officials said.Evacuation centers were set up for displaced residents at Highland High School in Palmdale and the Castaic Sports Complex."In this evacuation, unfortunately because of COVID protocols, a shelter is not actually established, people will have to stay in their cars," Shaffer said earlier. People staying in their cars at a center are allowed to have small animals with them.Animal boarding was made available at Castaic Animal Care Center, Lancaster Animal Care Center, Palmdale Animal Care Center and the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, according to the American Red Cross Los Angeles.San Francisquito Canyon Road has been closed from Stater Lane to Spunky Canyon, as well as Three Points Road from State Route 138 to Pine Canyon.A closure order is limiting public access to Cottonwood, Spunky Canyon, and Sawmill-Liebre campgrounds and, a small section of the Pacific Crest Trail for the safety of firefighters, forest officials said.More than 1,500 firefighters, along with three helicopters, five water tenders, and 173 engines, were assigned to the firefighting effort.The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 3923
