Two Transportation Security Administration officers have been placed on leave after a racist display was found inside a TSA workstation at Miami International Airport.Three TSA officers discovered two stuffed gorillas tied together and hanging with a noose on July 21, according to four TSA employees with knowledge of the situation and a picture obtained by CNN.A TSA employee with knowledge of the situation told CNN the display was hanging from a "pole right in the center of the TSA workstation located underneath the airport where passengers' checked luggage is screened before being placed on aircraft."The three officers notified their manager, but according to an employee with knowledge of the situation, the manager "tried to downplay the noose and gorilla display, saying it wasn't racist, it was just a joke." The manager's reaction further upset the three officers, the TSA employee said.According to an internal email obtained by CNN, the incident prompted the agency to launch an internal investigation, and two officers have since been placed on leave.A veteran Miami TSA officer who asked that his name not be used for fear of retaliation said he was upset about the incident, which he says has many of Miami International Airport's black and Hispanic TSA officers distraught."The mood now at the airport is people are upset this hasn't been properly taken care of yet. We want everybody held accountable for what they have done," the officer said.In a statement, the TSA said the display was immediately removed once reported and that an investigation was launched into who was responsible for the "unacceptable behavior.""TSA does not tolerate racist or offensive behavior and those found responsible will be held accountable for their actions," Jenny Burke, a spokeswoman for the agency, said in a statement. The game is called Brukel and it tells the story of World War II through the eyes of someone who lived it.“This whole thing is obviously a labor of love,” one gamer said of Brukel. “It’s obviously very personal to the creator.”The creator is Bob DeSchutter, an award-winning video game developer and a college professor at Miami University. “In the game, you go in there and you have your cellphone with you,” he says. “You can take pictures of everything, and if you take pictures of an object, you hear my grandma talk about it.”De Schutter traveled to Belgium to have his 93-year-old grandmother, Bie Verlinden, narrate this video game. Verlinden is also the game’s hero, and players shoot a camera instead of a gun. It took De Schutter five years of coding to create Brukel, and the finished product has both his critics' and grandma’s approval.“She’s like, ‘Oh, wow! This looks exactly the way it was,’” De Schutter says about his grandmother’s reaction to the video game. “I’m obviously very happy about that.”The game is also gaining positive attention among parents, who say they are happy to have their children play this game. “It’s a different spin from Fortnite, from Madden and all the other games that they play,” says parent Shaunice Morris. “Now, they’re able to play the game and have fun playing the video game, but also learn while in the process.”It's learning that includes life lessons that span countries and cultures, coming from a woman who lived through war and is now able to share her stories across generations through gaming. 1812

Waffle House says it is closing 420 restaurants across the country.In a Tuesday morning tweet, Waffle House said the vast majority of its locations would remain open.According to a map included in Waffle House's tweet, many of the chain's northernmost locations will close. Most of the restaurant's locations in Ohio, northern Virginia and Maryland are among those that will be shut down.Waffle House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.The closures come as the Trump administration has urged Americans to avoid eating in restaurant dining rooms, encouraging them instead to order take-out or go through drive-thrus at least through the weekend.FEMA has confirmed that they measure the severity of a disaster by how many Waffle Houses in an area remain open. Because the restaurants are open 24/7 and rarely close, a high number of Waffle House closures in an area can signal the area needs federal assistance.
