A faulty engine part that could cause vehicles to stall has led to a recall of 400,000 worldwide.The recall affects Toyota Motor Corp. and Subaru Corp., MarketWatch reports. About 80,000 of the 400,000 are Toyotas.Subaru is recalling some of its most popular models, such as the Forester sport-utility vehicle and Impreza and BRZ sports car. Toyota is recalling the Subaru-made 86 and Scion FR-S sports car, MarketWatch said.The automakers announced springs in the engine valve could fracture. That would cause the vehicles to stall and possibly lead to an accident.Earlier in October, Toyota recalled approximately 2.4 million vehicles worldwide due to a problem in which the cars may not enter a fail-safe driving mode as intended, which can cause the vehicle to lose power and stall. About 807,000 of those vehicles are in the United States. If this happens while driving at higher speeds, it could cause a crash. The recall affects 2010-2014 model year Toyota Prius and 2012-2014 Prius v vehicles.There was a second recall involving certain 2018-2019 Tundra and Sequoia vehicles and 2019 Avalon vehicles. About 168,000 vehicles sold in the United States are affected by this recall, which is due to a programming problem in the airbag electronic control unit (ECU) that could disable one or more of the sensors used to detect crashes, possibly causing the side and curtain shield airbags and/or front and knee airbags to not deploy as intended.  1502

A brutal attack on a McDonald's drive-thru worker in Michigan has the victim speaking out against her attacker."He drove up and I opened the window halfway to take his money. He shot me with a paintball gun and drove off," the victim said. She also recalls that the customer's weapon closely resembled a real handgun. The entire terrifying ordeal still has her in shock."It wasn't like I was being nasty or anything. I just took his order and he wasn't satisfied with the answer he had got," she says. It happened at 1:30 am, at McDonald's in Dearborn, Michigan at Michigan and Gulley.The shooter is described as a black male in his 30s, heavy set with a hat, driving a late model black colored Ford Crown Victoria. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. A hospice patient in Kentucky arrived at his son's season opener football game in style. His hospice nurse arranged for a plane to fly them to Belfry High School after realizing it would have been too dangerous in his condition to drive.For Scott Sullivan, being able to watch his son, Cade, play one more time under the Friday night lights was a once in a lifetime opportunity."I got out of a couple of hospitals and realized I had a really rapid form of cancer that left me really not many places to turn," Scott said.Since he got home, Jerree Humphrey, a nurse at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, has been taking care of Scott. Over the past few weeks, the pair have bonded over their kids. "He was asking me if I felt like he could go to Belfry. I was like, 'I don't know,' I mean seven or eight hours in the car, between here and there, and then back," Humphrey said.Driving being out of the question, Humphrey knew she had to do something. "One of our hospice mottos is you might not be able to change the outcome, but you can affect the journey," Humphrey said.So, Humphrey found someone to fly them down to Belfry High School to watch Cade play in Pulaski County High School's season opener."Him being there, it might be the last game he will ever watch me play in, and it meant a lot to me. I played my heart out; I played as hard as I possibly could," Cade said.The whole game, Scott was in the stands cheering on his son. Cade ran over and hugged him."My son and I, we made an agreement. If it's going to happen, we are going to make it. A couple arrested in Mexico while pushing a baby stroller filled with human body parts may have killed up to 20 women, according to the chief investigator on the case.The man and woman were detained Thursday in the Mexico City suburb of Ecatepec on suspicion of murdering 10 female victims. However, the male suspect has since claimed that they are responsible for twice as many deaths.Police arrested the pair, identified only as "Juan Carlos N." and his wife "Patricia "N.," during an investigation into the disappearance of three women and a two-month-old baby. The man gave detailed accounts of the original 10 deaths. He also told police that he and his wife had killed a further 10 people, according to State of Mexico Prosecutor Alejandro Gomez and reported by AFP.Police found eight plastic buckets full of dismembered body parts and cement in the couple's house, Gomez revealed in a Facebook post on Sunday. A growing list of companies in the United States have recently announced that they’ll start recognizing June 19, or Juneteenth, as a permanent company-wide holiday in support of racial diversity.Juneteenth is a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War was over, and that all remaining slaves in the state were free.That was more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863, which declared “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free,” according to the National Archives.Target is among the latest to make Juneteenth a company holiday. The chain made the announcement Monday, saying it wanted to give its employees the space to honor the holiday in their own way. All stores and distribution centers will remain open and hourly team members who work on June 19 will be paid time and a half, like with other holidays. “We recognize that the racial trauma the country is experiencing now is not new, but throughout recent weeks there has been a sense that this time is, and has to be, different,” said Brian Cornell, chairman and CEO at Target. “Juneteenth takes on additional significance in this moment.
