SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — While the bulk of rainfall has moved out of San Diego County for the week, high winds and surf while persist through the weekend.A large west-northwest swell will bring a high surf advisory to San Diego County through Saturday until 8 p.m., with surf reaching 6 to 10 feet along the county's southern coastline. Surf will subside gradually through the end of the weekend.During that time, however, an increased risk of rip currents will create a hazard along the area's beaches.WEATHER: 10News' weekend forecastHeading into Saturday night, another storm system will bring mostly light to moderate rain Saturday night and the possibility of snow in local mountains.High winds from the west are forecasted for portions of San Diego's mountains and deserts, with a wind advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. Wind gusts could reach 55 mph and isolated gusts could hit 65 mph.Those winds will make driving difficult in the area, especially for high profile vehicles. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A group of ten college girls rode their bikes from Seattle to San Diego to fight sex trafficking. The group is comprised of women from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Alabama.Beginning in Seattle and ending in San Diego, these first-time riders biked down the West Coast, meeting with communities and local leaders along the way to spark conversations and raise money for the long-term, rehabilitative care for children rescued from sex traffickers.This is the third year for Pedal the Pacific and this year they nearly doubled their financial goal. They ended up raising over 250 thousand dollars. The organization tells 10News, "The team just received a 0,000 donation from the Harry W. Bass Jr Foundation. The foundation says they were appalled by Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged crimes, but they found a positive way to make a difference with their donation to Pedal the Pacific."All of the money raised will be donated to The Refuge Ranch, the largest long-term, live-in rehabilitation facility for child survivors of sex trafficking in the US. 1071

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Only recently identified through DNA testing, Marine Sgt. Millard Odom was laid to rest Tuesday at Miramar National Cemetery.Tuesday was the 75th anniversary of Odom's being killed in action during World War II in the battle for the Pacific Island of Tarawa.Sgt. Odom had been buried in Hawaii for 69 years with no name on his marker.  Now his loved ones are able to pay tribute.His niece, Pollyanna Brown, spoke at the service."Even after 75 years our family is one of the lucky ones that have the privilege and honor to bury our lost loved one," said Brown.Several other veterans, including the Patriot Guard Riders, attended the service. 687
